Boring and Awful

I remember when I loved Woody Allen movies. This one shocked me as it was both boring and weird at the same time. The editing was also terrible, it felt like it was very cheaply made, not at all typical of older WA films, which were well editied even if put together on the cheap. I hadn't watched a film of his for a few years, not sure why, so thought I'd start with this one. What a waste of my life. What went wrong?

Boris (Larry David) is a miserable man who enters into a strange relationship with a much younger girl. Written and directed by Woody Allen. This feels like 'Curb Your Enthusiasm, the movie'.

I'm a fan of Larry David and rate this movie '8 out of 10'.

Latter-day Woody Allen at his finest. Very witty writing and Larry David is somehow more like Woody Allen than Woody Allen himself. Five stars already. Watch this sucker. Case closed.

I've loved LD's work since i saw my first episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm back in 2004. Everything about him is just... brilliant. His body language, the tone of his voice and the fact that he is a comedy genius. LD is spot on as always, and his performance makes this movie a must own for me.

Hilarious, ethnically-comples - and timelessly enjoyable

This is a superb film, which those of us who are acquainted with the Ashkenasic traditions will understanding in its entirety. I hope others do, too.

Oscar for Larry Davis

Larry Davis gets my Oscar for ranting. Absolutely brilliant script and best Woody Allen I`ve seen. This sort of character people make you refrain from jumping out of the window in my opinion.

It’s a Woody Allen film - so always good to watch.

Woody Allen makes funny or very-funny films and I’d consider this film as being in the ‘funny’ category. Enjoyable enough, with his usual observations on life, its meaning/purpose etc.
