Review of the dvd which is 87 minutes duration, has English subtitles, a little featurette as an extra. Good picture and sound quality. I mention these details because there have been complaints about the quality of the Blu-ray, and there are other versions of the film that are 4 minutes longer.
That doesn't matter to me too much as this is just another revenge vehicle for Van Damme, an actor that I generally like when he's involved in a film with a good plot that is handled well by a director such as in 'Universal Soldier' and 'Timecop' (Roland Emmerich and Peter Hyams respectively). Like almost every film that you can name something about that film might hit a cord and resonate while the same film may leave others unmoved. The two films mentioned are merely personal favourites while 'Wake Of Death' didn't leave its mark on me.
A lot of martial arts work, a big car chase, a couple of explosions but nothing that says 'this is one of my best films out of the hundreds that I've made'. Sorry to the true fans of the guy who do appreciate almost everything that he does but this is just run-of-the-mill stuff. I hope he doesn't go the way of Steven Seagal and become a joke and the king of direct to video films.

Absolute crap when it comes to content of this German Bluray

Absolute crap when it comes to content of this German Bluray. It says that it's appropriate for people over 18 years old but all scenes that seem to be brutal are castrated... So why the f.... is it saying that it's for adults if you make it PG6... German logic. Avoid! Better off with an uncut DVD as this Bluray is just an upscaled DVD. Waste of money and time.
