Just brilliant

Stick with the first episode and you'll find this an enjoyable watch. Sexy without being too gratuitous, gory because it just should be, plenty of good, well developed characters and plenty of plot going on.

It's a very gripping show.

Awesome Story. Watched Season 1, 2 & 3. One after the other over 4 days on Prime.
780AD's how they lived and died for what they believed in, be it land, religion, riches, love or just survival it is all there. The programme fills the imagination of how Viking life might have been like in those times. Some of the scenes are quite graphic so I recommend keeping to the age sensor guide lines. I am not a history/historian person but I feel it gave a good sense of how life was like and how long things took to happen without feeling it was being drag out, or too much was left out in between. The programme is about Ragnar and his family. He was a formable leader and visionary for his people who started out as a farmer and became King of the Vikings. Each episode leaves you with the sense of wanting to see the outcome in the next episode and you are not disappointed, the cunning, betrayals, exploitations are nail biting. Like most of use I can't wait for Season 4, well done MGM.

Thank you Amazon, I'm hooked!

Totally hooked probably from Ep.2 not Ep.1. I wasn't keen on the first episode but I am SO SO glad I carried on to the second episode of this series. In my opinion it is the best thing that I have ever watched on TV! The characters are amazing and that includes the female characters. I am incredibly happy to see a show invest equally in developing the women as the men. All characters have a convincing blend of strengths and weaknesses. I don't usually like violence but as I have so much emotion invested in these fascinating people I am rooting for a winner which makes the bloody battles necessary and amazing to watch. Thank you for this series!

A great first season. Exited to watch more

This show has very likeable characters with exciting character dynamics. Even on 'slower' episodes it leaves you wanting to watch more. It doesn't take long to get addicted.

If you're into series like GoT then this is definitely worth a watch. It has a similar feel to it but the story is focused on the more historic Norse fables, following the storyline of the renowned Ragnar Lodbrok who was proclaimed to be the descendent of the Norse God, Odin, himself.

Captivating and immersive. Takes you into the Viking world and even with the more blood thirsty scenes, which i would normally turn away from, makes the drama more realistic and interesting. Plus Travis is a treat to watch! 100% a 5☆ watch!

No Hollywood here, just pure gritty and ruthless Vikings!
Verified purchase
Give this a chance if you're sitting on the fence. I cringed at the thought of Hollywood trying to recreate Scandinavia and moreover Vikings because I have Danish ancestry. I was won over. No American accent in sight, nothing overly far fetched just gritty, ruthless and probably as true to the time as a series can get.
