Age Does Not Weary Them

An enjoyable biopic series made for TV, well acted, the South African sets almost doubled as Egypt but for me was the failure of the make department not to have tried to age Max Irons who looked exactly the same when the series started in 1905 and culminated in the finding of King Tut in 1922! Surely he would have had a few grey hairs in 1922 and signs of thinning perhaps or were budgets very tight? Enjoyable does it add anything new to the story I am not sure!

great series

I have seen his tomb, with his two mummified stillborn children, he is the only King of Egypt to be found buried in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. I have been on a cruise down the Nile seen the pyramids and all the temples except Philae. Seen Luxor (Thebes) and Aswan. Didnt see Abu Simbel. This series brings it all back.

Kitsch love story spoils dramatic true life tale
Verified purchase
A kitsch love story which never took place in real life dominates this production. I can appreciate artistic licence but when I view a story about the real life discovery of a tomb I don't expect the film to be dominated by a fictional storyline, there is quite enough drama in the true story of the discovery had the producer taken the time to do his research

Brilliantly depicted

An outstanding series depicting Howard Carter and how the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb was achieved.
A “must watch” if you’re into anything related to ancient Egypt and Tutankhamun

Tutankhamun gets a plastic makeover

I was really looking forward to this and was left highly disappointed. Awful characterisations with a bland script. Only the scenery is worth seeing.
