Great old story retold

Asked it but really I always did, long before this version came along.

Most of the performances were excellent but the main character was the weak link.

The supporting cast and original storyline sort of carried him.

It's a classic Sunday afternoon family watch... if you can drag the younger members from their phones long enough.

I couldn't believe I found this. It was one of my favourites as a child. The skates hidden in the cupboard. It's just a beautiful, magical story. I blubbered at the end it really got me. I need to purchase. Thank you prime

Happy memories

I read the book as a child and loved it. When my children were young (they are now adults), it was one of their bedtime story books that I read to them. I remember crying at the end of the story, as I found it so moving and a wonderful story. Needless to say, I blubbed at the end of the film. Often films do not do the books justice, but this was very well made. It is a wonderful story.

As I remembered it from my childhood

I'm usually quite dubious to watch movies that I watched as a child that I remember with affection. I remember this being magical and didn't want that memory to be ruined by watching it again as an adult. But it is as wonderful as I remember it. It has every much the magic watching it now, as it did when I was a child. Seeing this was on prime, i'm so glad I watched it again because now I can let my children watch and I know they will love it. Recommended as a wonderful magical, family movie for any age!

I have waited 30 years for thus to be reissued. I couldn't believe it when i saw that it was available again. I have strong memories of the scenes when Tom and Hattie skate to Ely.
This is such a fantastic adaptation, very true to the book. The acting and casting is spot on. And the sets are exquisite with amazing attention to detail. The production didn't feel dated at all.

Tom's Midnight Garden was one of my favourite books growing up. The film is an adorable and true to the story remake of the book. It bought a lot of happiness to me to watch it.
