One of the worst film I have ever seen.
Spoiler alert: ex solider now school teacher goes forward in time to help save the world, comes across his now much older daughter (she informed him that in the past, in the 7 years before he dies he abandons her and her mum despite there being no character development to remotely suggest he might do this). They make a serum to save to world (just in the nick of time). But he has to take the serum back to his time to be mass produced so they can use it on the aliens before they take over the world, but now he's in the future he doest want to go back to the past and let his future daughter die despite the fact that if he save his daughter in the past he would be saver her in the future. Once he returns to his time no one seems to think mass producing the serum is a good idea. So he goes it alone (alone being with his estranged dad and few choice friends, friends being people he met 7 days ago not his contacts from his military days). They find the alien craft frozen in the Ice, they inject the serum in to about 6 Aliens and those Aliens die, but this wakes up 6 more aliens and the red belled red faced queen alien. Side note they also wake up the every single alien on the space ship ( If I had to put a number on it I would say the entire species) but don't worry about that its only a threat for about 60 second as they just blow up the alien craft with them all inside almost as if they didn't need the special anti alien serum to kill them after all. Anyway Prat and dad now take on the queen alien (she escaped before the craft blew up) and after a bit of a fight they emerge Victorious. Prat returns home to his wife a daughter to introduce them to his dad and thinks to himself maybe I won't leave my wife and child after all, despite never showing any signs that he would.

Great! Excellent! Well Worth a Watch for Sci-Fi Fans. THANK YOU AMAZON for bringing this...

I have just finished the whole movie (2hours 17 minutes...) As a Sci-Fi fan I really enjoyed this movie. Lots of action and SFX and lots of Aliens... I found the storyline really interesting and although a bit longer I was kept glued to my screen all the way through. This is a cross between Aliens + Starship Troopers with some nice Time Travel that actually all connects and makes a great movie with a great storyline and great SFX. When it finished I felt as if I was satisfied but now I want more... Thank You Amazon for bringing this Exclusive and I hope you brining more similar movies. Mohammed.

No Spoiler, Quickfire review: Long, heavy exposition and wanders around looking for direction.

Quick verdict:
Worth a watch as a long Sci-Fi show episode if you have time to kill but I wish I hadn’t stayed up to watch it.

First thoughts:
Often light-hearted and comedic but what else would you expect from class clown Chris Pratt.
Some solid acting from supporting cast members, namely J.K. Simmons.

Show don’t tell, the story and characters are often a little heavy handed with the exposition ladle.
Straddles two timelines between a year from now and around 29 years in the future and there’s story pacing issues in both timelines.
Plenty of your favourite tropes are included from most military action films (there’s even the compulsory mention of ‘....Nam’.
For the most part you may be unsure of either side’s motivation.
The comedy often doesn’t land as they’re dropping jokes and trying to convince us that the situation is dire all at the same time.

Well there’s some very interesting Sci-Fi concepts at work here and although they may not be unique for the most part, they are often executed in a refreshingly new way. The special effects stand up to the smell test and pass most of the time but the main problem here is the story.
You always seem to be gearing up towards something on the edge of awesome but it’s either underwhelming, short or nothing happens at all and the story stalls again.

Details and things to note:
Another offering from Amazon Studios.
Fairly hefty runtime at around 2hrs 20 minutes and at least 30 minutes could be shaved off this without you even noticing.
Nobody really knows what they’re doing which is reflected in more than the story here.
Nothing after the end credits start so you can blame the MCU for making you think about waiting for an end credit scene.

Final thoughts:
As a massive Sci-Fi fan I’d been waiting for this to release for a while and it was a little disappointing. I think it may have served better as a console game or a 3-4 part mini series where they didn’t have to pad the runtime and could have told a more compelling and coherent story.
So it’s part action comedy, military, Sci-Fi, horror and unfortunately master of none. I really want these Amazon Original movies to do as well as their TV shows do but they’re not quite there yet.
I probably wouldn’t recommend it for movie night but if it’s on in the background and you have to go stir something, you probably won’t have lost any plot when you return to it.

Thanks for reading my review.

It lives up to hype, CAST storyline action drama.
Chris plat has taken this to another level, this film has got to be one of my top 10 action movies of all time.
The story line gives it all when where why and how the beginning the middle the end. never in all my years I've seen a film that has accomplished this with grate script grate effects grate actors brings this film that is pure synergy.
Highly recommend it

With a start inspired by PC gaming, i.e. a bunch of civilian soldiers are beamed into a future war zone to fight off alien invaders - it then drags on for over 2 hours of flashing lights, prolonged firefights, bravado and snappy-CGI-octopus-dog-aliens. It's clearly infused with contemporary mores; the military's big shots are all female and BAME, which is fair enough. It all feels a bit vapid, though. While it's casting is up to date, the ending makes you feel like nobody has been able to come up with a new ending to action films since the 1980s.

Fun popcorn mix of Alien meets Starship Troopers with a dash of Time Travel. The alien menace is cool. Pacing is fine and some great actors having some fun with genre. If your expectations are fun popcorn movie you will enjoy it.

Headline missing, like the point or plot to this film.

I was going to write a review that went over every aspect of the problems with this film, but here IMO is the best way to view this film.

1. If you care about the things you watch, because character development, plot, script, logic, and a good viewing experience is what you care about. Then find something else.

2. If you want to watch it and the above doesn't matter. Then buy a little green, get baked and knock yourself out, because honestly killing your braincells while you watch this is your own choice.

Turn down your volume, because when this films music cuts in to add drama(The only way they can add tension or drama) they turn it up to 11. Which incidentally they never or rarely pay off

Too long, predictable and poorly written.

This film does not have a good enough plot or action sequences to justify its 2 hours 20 min run time. It is padded out with pointless scenes that add nothing to the plot. The first 30 mins is very slow and could be skipped without losing anything. The plot is tired and predictable and has too many holes even by sci-fi movie standards. Worst of all, the action sequences are so poorly shot and edited that they make little sense and its hard to follow what is meant to be happening. I regret watching it.
