Comfortable but not true to size.

As this is advertised as a wide shoe, I expected it to fit easily with a bit of room to spare out of the box (I ordered a shoe half a size bigger than I normally buy for anything else as I will be doing lots of long walks in them). When i tried the shoe on, my foot only just fit and after walking 6 miles, I had issues, my feet were hurting a lot. I had to replace the shoes and miss out the second set of eyes to get them comfortable. They are fine with the relacing and are very comfortable, but beware, they are not true to size at all, I should have gone for a full size bigger.

These are a bit narrow and uncomfortable on the ankles. They are padded but they are odd and dig into your ankles instead of just supporting the natural shape. They might be better after a break in period but they are incredibly stiff and uncomfortable in general. They wore blisters into the sides of my feet and scraped the skin off the backs of my ankles walking less than a quarter mile. I had great thick socks on too. They didn't have arch support that was very supportive in my opinion either. They were a little narrow for my liking as well. I knew they weren't the right shoes for me right away.

I got my first pair of timberland hiking boots when they first produced them, and loved that pair. I wore that pair for years for casual hiking. This pair fits just as expected and look well made, I hope they will last as well as my first pair, again I expect to use them daily in the winter and for casual hiking. I have a pair of merrell hiking boots that are my more serious hikers and have a bit better insole and cushioning but they are also a bit more expensive, I would happy hiking in either.

Very uncomfortable. Seemed fine til I wore them out for an easy trail walk. Heel rubbed into the back of my ankle. Toes sore and cramped.
I thought when I tried them on they just needed to be broken in. Forced myself to wear them more after my hike and they never softened. But too late to return since I'd worn them.
Will ever buy shoes online again.

The media could not be loaded.

Pour quality came apart after getting wet a few months later. Try to return but only 30 day warranty. When arriving i wasn't sure if I should return because it did not look like good quality after using for a few days it seam it was coming apart on the seams. Not sure if I should try to still return it. But not happy at all.

Order the wide version even if you think you don't wear the wide version. These are very narrow, as you can see in other reviews. I have the same standard size in many shoes and different boots, however these are a lot narrower. The wide would probably be more like a normal. I don't know how much they will spread over time as I just got them. I am going to deal with the standard version but even if you've never needed a wide version, get the 2E wide version anyway. These are small boots compared to other boots like these, such as wolverine boots.

Fit well, break in fast. got these to replace my all time favorite Hi-tec altitude 4's (which are NOW made in China, and are junk now. don't fit right and soles fall off)The Timberlands are comparable, but not quite as sturdy or long lasting like the OLD Hi-tecs used to be, though I think more comfortable right out of the box. I Use these hikers everyday for work, which includes indoor /outdoor in the snow belt of Pennsylvania. Never had a problem with leakage as long as I keep them oiled up once broke in. Hope these new ones are as good as ones I used to get, seem to be so far. Had them for a couple weeks now.
