Surprisingly good
Went into it really thinking I’d hate the boys but I didn’t mind their storylines, I mean I wish they had been shorter and we’d had way more scenes for the girls. It felt more of a transition from a lighter s1 to what could be a really dark s3 with hopefully (way way) more girls scenes. Overall though I liked the boys more than I thought, Kirin and Ivan standouts I think. Rachel and Martha really surprising standouts acting wise for the girls aswell!

Side note could have done with more bunker scenes, like the build up the reveal could have been more suspenseful. But the second season does a really good job of keeping you on the edge of your seat and guessing, which is always the mark of a good show. Definitely needs a s3 and s4 to fill out the story and round it off well.

I need season 3
I was hesitant to watch season 1 because I thought it had quite a "teen girl audience/YA" vibe, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I looooved season 1 and couldn't wait for season 2. It seems like lots of people were disappointed by the second season but I don't know why - I thought it was really good! Maybe the girls' were easier for the audience to relate to, as each female islander had a more substantial background whereas the male islanders didn't really receive that individual attention (except Raf and Seth, maybe). Regardless, the acting was fantastic again, the story progressed, and I definitely would recommend this show to friends.

I never usually write reviews for shows but I am desperate for Amazon to renew the show for a third series!

Amazing
This show is incredible. The characters are all complex and multidimensional, and the script is witty, smart and thoroughly thought through.
Absolutely raging that season 3 hasn’t been announced yet - binged this in a solid 2 days!

Really quite good
Absolutely loved season 1 and for season 2 with so many characters involved, they still managed to contextualise and offer backstories for the whole new additional cast, which allows you to connect with that group as well. While i'm still attached to the female characters more, the show does a good job of juggling timelines and character stories and now i'm super excited about the groups mixing which could show a completely new dynamic.

Brilliant
Waited for the release of S2 ever since finishing S1 back in 2020 and it did not disappoint!
I loved the way the series transitioned from lighter context to a much darker setting going forward and hopefully will continue to grip us going into S3. There were some doubts about the addition of the boys' cast but I believe it brought in a good dynamic that will prove eventful in S3 if it goes ahead.
The Shoni scenes were stunning this season as well!
Cannot wait for the next one, waiting on the confirmation they've renewed it...come on Amazon!

Top film art.
The show is about the importance of social conversation and the implications of violence within youths. Obviously there is an unspoken wave of violence amongst younger people, which needs addressing and the show, on my opinion opens the door and invites us to a conversation with each other.
Ultimately the characters can be seen as an expression of our own multicharacteristicated self- and whoever leads the escape from the island is the self-, growing to be its best version. Probably why main female protagonist's name is Leah, who leads, when others are incapable of. Main male protagonist is probably developing in S3. Thanks Amazon if you bring that up would be awesome :)

Compelling, yet a little repetitive, slow...
I really liked season 1 and I don't dislike season 2, but it feels a bit flat. I'm already in episode 4 and still there's been no plot shift (other than another set of teenagers purposely stranded on an island that is). It's just a bit slow...

Saying that, I think the acting is very good - particularly the woman playing Leah.
