Misleading
This is rubbish and very misleading.

For a start, all the trailers showed a tall glamorous vampire lady, but there is no such character in the film. Nor are there any werewolves. Any expectations you have for a gripping horror experience can be dismissed.

Furthermore it's just one big cut-scene - I couldn't make any of the characters do anything, and this is despite me making sure my controllers were fully charged.

I'm just very disappointed.

Powerful, truthful. It's an inspiration
An incredible portrayal of 20th century First World War realities at home and without the heroics often depicted by the war film genre. This truly shows the intricacies of community life and attitudes of that time. A very powerful true story, which has given me such an appreciation of the hardships endured by our ancestors on both sides of the pond. Highly recommend viewing.

Just beautiful
Such an amazing tale of strife, war, hardship and more that our ancestors endured during wartime.
A strong emotional pull as I lived in the area in modern day.
A must watch.

Outstanding!!!
Outstanding historical drama loved every second. This is the second time i seen the Village. Watched it when it was showing on BBC 1 a few year ago now. If you enjoyed the Mill this you'll love or if you've not seen the Mill its something to watch after.
