It was fun and entertaining
I enjoyed watching this comedy it's very refreshing to see different families being portrayed and a gay love story that does not hold back on gay sexuality. Some could say that is the epitome of woke but I feel we need more representation of all kinds of families being portrayed in the media as it is very much the new normal and should be embraced with normality. Also the dialogues are hilarious and very clever, thought all the actors did a great job too.
I hope there's a season 2 very curious about who the mother might be!

Terrible - This show has nothing enjoyable about it whatsoever.
Annoying characters, poor writing, inaudible dialogue, terrible casting, rubbish acting, woeful directing and a stupid crass story.

Trust me, watch something (anything) else and you will enjoy it more.

I really enjoyed this show
It's got some slick dialogue and some excellent one liners in it. The different dynamics between the characters works well for me. It's a piece of light hearted fun that has some stand out moments. I would be very disappointed if this didn't get a second season - it deserves one.

It's a lot better than what seems to have been its main competition 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' - which unfortunately to me is the ultimate in series copy cat moves and lack of imagination - but I'm not reviewing that!

Silliness of a highest quality
It's camp, highly stylised and, most importantly, it's funny. Casting is great, stories are off beat and if you can let go of your expectations you are in for a treat. We all need a bit of silliness in our life and The Lake has enough of it to last you for some time.

The Lake 2022 Breath of fresh air
I loved season one. It packed a whole summer season on the lake, of neighbours, families and friends, their messy interactions, highs, lows, rites f passage and weirdo micro cultures do-ings into 8 bite size episodes. I look forward to many more seasons.

Stick with it, it's a grower
Nearly gave up after a slow pilot episode, but glad I stuck with it to the end. A fun, gentle show with quirky relatable characters, and some great barbed dialogue between brother and step-sister. Hope it gets a second season!
