This script is identical to one written years earlier which is why Jonny Owen has faced years of legal action. In my opinion he just used many sections of the previous script to fit around the characters as he had no time prior to filming. Why would you "write" a script only to try and steer away from it as much as possible by getting help from Henry Normal. Even director John Hardwick in his online interview said Jonny wanted to move away from script. Why? Jonny I think you have many questions to answer.

Funny, Gentle and Enjoyable.

This is a great underground film. If you lived through or have an interest in the 'Mod' movement you will relate to this film. Also if you enjoy the concept of Trainspotting, Twin Town or other similar stories this will appeal to you. The cast is a real selection of new comers and well established players and they mix well to form a seamless performance which flows nicely along. There's an innocence to the film which I liked in the sense that nothing horrible or terrible happens and there's an uplifting element to it all. The highlight is the music closely followed by the cameo's.

Fails where it should shine.

Ultimately, what could have been a great slice of life movie about the music industry, fails to convince on any level, disappointing where it should be easy to shine. Buy ‘Killing Bono’ instead. You’ll have a much better time.

This is one of those watch, then watch again ...

This is one of those watch, then watch again movies. It becomes increasingly poignant as venues / Soho disappear and the grassroots and major music industry echo this tale in multiple variations.
