Absolutely rubbish. First film was excellent, this film is a right letdown.

Awesome film. Even better than the first one, in my opinion.

Straight to DVD cop flick
Ray Liotta ([[ASIN:B00004CXX8 Goodfellas]]) & Shawn Hatosy ([[ASIN:B004UGANV6 The Faculty]]) go head to head in this slow paced cop Drama. Set in the Motor Ciy of the title, Detroit, it follows inexperienced homicide Detective Dan Sullivan (Hatosy) as he investigates an undercover cop who was killed under mysterious circumstances. Due to his lack of time on the job, he is partnerd up on this case with the murdered cops ex-collegue Marty Kingston (Liotta) to get to the bottom of things. However as Sullivan delves deeper into the slain cops life, he soon finds a trail of corruption, which someone doesnt want him to follow, which is evident as the body count rises.

Overall, Street Kings 2 is not a great film, it's very much the straight to DVD cop drama it is. The story is run of the mill cop corruption fare & SK's 2 doesnt add anything new or exciting to the genre. But thanks to the two lead's in Liotta & Hatsoy, they manage to make it more than what it is, which is why i'm giving it 3 stars instead of 2. The backdrop of Detroit was used to good advantage, with many dark & seedy locations that the corruption story has some beliveability.

In conclusion, SK's 2 is a somewhat watchable by the book cop corruption flick. It doesnt add anything new or exciting to the genre, and you wont miss much skipping this title and catch it when it appears on t.v, thus i cannot fully reccomend this film.
