Solid addition to the setting. (R15+, NSFW but then it's starship troopers, what did you expect?)

Not sure why so many are bashing the CGI.
I'm guessing their only comparisons are the ultra high-budget disney/pixar movies or trailers that specialise in low character numbers in pretty scenery vs a war/combat setting made by work-horse studios.

main points
Story was passable
Cast was decent
Pace was ok
Effects were pretty solid
Combat was mobile
Deaths were many
Limbs were severed
Skin was exposed

I preferred this one to "traitor of mars" (which is seemingly the sequel but feels more like the prequel) traitor felt like it was trying to hit the casual/teen audience while this was an out n out war story fresh from the original movies setting (blood and glory, for the sake of survival).

Summary
No worse than any aliens-franchise movie, better than most.

The original live action movie is amongst my favourite movies. Which made the travesty that is the 2nd and 3rd movies hurt so much. This though pulls me back to the feelings i had when watching the original. Its animated, but its quality is apparent. Its creators tried. The voice actors were able to portray their characters well. Add in an interesting storyline and the whole thing comes together as a good movie. Might not be for everyone, but if you enjoyed the original movie i think you will enjoy this.

Its not great.

Always been a fan, but it is just too low budget and some of the voices within this movie are just too cringe worthy to listen too. Spend your time on something else, ill never get it back... haha

Sad childrens cartoon

A very sad animated movie with ridiculous characters and no real storyline. Ideal for fat greasy IT techies with no lives other than the one on their computer.

If you're a die hard Starship Troopers fan and can get over the low budget GCI then it's not a bad ST movie. If you're not, then I wouldn't bother.

Basically exactly what it says on the tin, if you expect Oscar quality plot, voice acting etc... then you are watching the wrong film, if you want bugs, guns, pointless heroics and death, IN SPACE!! Then this is a film for you.

Didn't know before I started, that it was CGI, but it was good quality. I think they might have used actors and those tracking dots for some of the parts.

Even so CGI, I could not stop watching, thought it thoroughly good, and glad I found it.
