Once again, we have glowing reviews for - in this instance, an overlong commercial for ??? lipstick? A head-ache producing sound track, no, noise track, and too much about nothing. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. The folk in this mess, have left ALL the reviews.

I was tempted in by the reviews, and it was worth it! More than a few shades of David Lynch, with some very moving and heartbreaking threads running through. I do love films like this, but it was more than just a voyeuristic look into a delusional perspective, it asked questions and left them for us (the viewers) to answer. It made me feel sad, haunted, thwarted on the protagonist's behalf, increasingly hoping for stability, explanation, a certainty that could ground her and give me the comforting thought that things would work out alright. Very good.

Imagine yourself in the most beautiful place you can imagine where every plant, every flower and every leaf inspire you to take a closer look. Every fibre of you needs to turn them over in your hands and look, feel and smell as if for the first time. Your so overcome by the beauty that surrounds you that you don't even notice that you've gone further than you intended. Slowly you begin to realise that your lost and as time moves on the fear begins to grow until all that was once light becomes dark, the familiar, unfamiliar. You are a child in a grown up world where nothing makes sense.
In a time where films have in the main become sterile and predictable "Sodium Party" has just made me feel a whole range of emotions and I can only thank all those involved for taking me on a journey of unexpected delight.

“A modern Alice In Wonderland-esque tale”
Delighted to see Sodium Party streaming on Amazon! I worked on the film and am so proud of what I helped bring to life!

It is an Irish thriller/drama (in the English language, in case there's any confusion!) about Claire, a woman who has grown up under a domineering mother, but finally gets to live her life when her mother dies. Sex, boys, rock n roll all follow, and she is finally living her life, until her childhood imaginary friend shows up.

The best way to describe the style is like if David Lynch made a film in Ireland. The film has had a great festival run, picked up awards along the way, and received really great reviews. The cinematography and star Slaine Kelly (The Tudors, The O'Briens) have really been singled out in particular.

This film certainly isn't for everyone, but for those who like films like Mulholland Drive, Donnie Darko or Jacob's Ladder, they will enjoy!
