I think it is a very good movie

It is a comedy genre swimming in a sea of human drama and personal tragedy. It is set in at the outer line of permissable or acceptable film screen level of US poverty. The characters struggle with mental health, substance abuse and exploitation. Despite the destitute of the characters there is a perpetual string of hope carried by the goodness of the individual characters. Like a sighting of a bright light shining in the far distance of the ever present ever enclosing darkness. There is a moral compass, which even tho a bit off, it still points north when looked at with scrutiny. There are also a number of guidelines used that are actually not only personal wisdoms, but psychological and biological facts of how human brain and mind operate. My guess is that the author had some philanthropy at heart, hoping there might be someone in the target audience who will take on some parts of the message promoted by the voice of the carrying deceised brother. I rather liked the film..it's well shot, well edited, the tempo and timings are spot on...and the individual characters are really well played by each of the actors. It's an interesting take on human existentionalism and human drama and the easy failings built into the human condition in general.

A really lovely, amusing and fun (and sometimes hard-hitting) movie

I went in with low expectations but was really blown away by this movie.

If you're looking for a straight up comedy then this isn't for you. But this is wonderful storytelling, a quirky story and a really lovely journey to go on.

The script let it down in a couple of parts where the acting felt forced, but overall it was just a brilliant film.

Comedy?

Well it's not a comedy. Not even a dark comedy.
As a weird drama, yeah.
But, ultimately rubbish.

Not funny

What are these good actors doing in this rubbish? I like dark humour, but this is humourless. Don't watch it unless, in fact just don't. Certainly don't buy it.

Incredibly good - Watch it!

This was a real shocker. We started watching out of inquisitiveness and scepticism but it was superb. Gripping with some great acting turns. Lucas shows he can really act with depth -- and the humour - here very dark - simmers underneath. Watch it!

Why was this made?

I just don't get the thinking behind this film. Not one entertaining scene in the whole thing except the first few minutes. Who wants to see Matt Lucas wobbling about in his underpants or struggling to move a smelly dead body?
