I had mine for weeks before i went out in the wet - ran through a half inch puddle - 2 feet immediately wet. My normal trainers would have done better at keeping the H2Out.
Im not sure what the gortex is up to if its not waterproofing the shoe -you can buy shoes with big plastic grips that aren't waterproof for like 20£. All that said - amazon accepted the return - tho havn't removed the bit about them being waterproof. I like the lacing system. thought sizing was small - Im a 10 usually, ordered them 1st - way to small. Then got 10.5 - pretty snug, then puddlegate. Ive bought the speedcross gt4 something or others in a size 11 on ebay - like the ones up from these - spec says waterproof - am suspecting not - time will tell. So all in all not a bad shoe, but in my eyes way overpriced if not waterproof
I run about 1km on road to get to the paths and the shoes are fine - feel a little odd as the grip moves on hard surfaces as they are quite “tall” but it is fine for shortish distances and the grip doesn’t seem to suffer for it.
Once on fields and paths these shoes are brilliant even after a night of rain the grip is awesome, no sliding at all. I feel totally sure footed when running in them.
The laces are great without the need to tie them and even without any warm up I didn’t get any blisters at all - first run in them was 11k and no pain or rubbing at all. Really comfortable.
Will definitely be getting another pair when these wear out but think they will last for a while.
They are not water proof but that isn’t an issue as I’d rather have breathable shoes that keep my feet cool.
The length was fine, perhaps slightly tight on the edges. but my heel would slip about 1cm up and down each time I took a step.
This was with a 1/2 size up from my usual shoe size (as everyone else has said to do this).
If I had gone for my normal size, my toes would have touched the end.
Due to the quick lacing system, you can't get a nice tight fit like you would with normal shoes.
They felt comfy and well made otherwise, but be prepared for the fact you may need to return them.
These have already done 150km of trail running and while comfortable to run in be wary that Salomon trails are known to be quite narrow which they are.
I personally love them as a trail runner, I would have preferred the orange like my last pair however, these were not in stock and the black were at a price to good to pass up.
