This isn't the original Night Gallery! Caveat Emptor!
Verified purchase
Don't get me wrong, Night Gallery is a very much underrated and brilliant show. What we have here is not Night Gallery. After the show ran, it was broken up for syndication. This meant they needed to meet criteria regarding episode length and quantity of episodes so TV stations would buy it. What happened meant that episodes of Night Gallery were cut leaving key scenes missing from the story and making them very confusing. To make matters worse, episodes of "The Sixth Sense" were cut and edited into the show to make up for any gaps in timing, etc. This means that original episodes have been butchered and irrelevant pap has been squeezed in to make up any shortfall. Naturally I'm furious to have spent money on a show that isn't what it claims to be! I strongly urge any fan of the show to get in touch with Amazon via their feedback facility and demand they remove this rubbish and replace it with the actual episodes from the show, followed by Seasons 2 and 3. If you need any further proof, Season 1 of Night Gallery consists of an excellent pilot episode followed by 6 season episodes (CBS ran a 1 in 4 season where 4 shows were rotated each week at a particular time shot. Rubbish I know but it meant that they only made 6 season 1 episodes) but Amazon managed to get 19 episodes of season 1! The actual episodes are listed in Wikipedia (look up night gallery episodes).

Please, please, please replace this travesty with the show in its purest form! If I wanted to watch "The Sixth Sense", I'd buy that instead.[[ASIN:B018Y2NU7A Night Gallery - The Complete Series (10 disc box set) [DVD]]]

Amazon you are miss-selling this!

Warning this is not Night Gallery Season 1 as stated. From episode 9 onwards it changes to a series called The Sixth Sense. Just buy episodes 1 to 8 individually if you want The Night Gallery and nothing after. I am so disappointed by this. Amazon are misleading us at best here. The Night Gallery gets 5 stars. I have rated it 1 Star because I didn't get what I expected.

Something isn't right here...

I'm giving this one star in hopes of the flaw being noticed and addressed---this is false advertising at worst, mislabeled and misleading at best. You can tell as you read through the episode descriptions that after episode 6, IT IS NO LONGER 'NIGHT GALLERY'! I think it is probably a mistake, not a deliberate scam. But still--how could Amazon not notice this, and worse, why has it not been fixed after a reviewer has already pointed it out? The 'Night Gallery' episodes which actually ARE NG are great; highly recommend them, only--buy them individually if you must see them before Amazon gets this straightened out.

The Best Of 70s TV

As much as I like The Twilight Zone, I was always more a fan of The Night Gallery for its horror and supernatural leanings - not to mention all the gaudy early 70s sights and sounds. It used to be shown late at night in my region when I was a teenager, so it's good to finally be able to own the show and to get to see some of the episodes that I missed first time around.
