80s Rock Music & One Big Training Montage
Verified purchase
What’s not to love? This is my favourite Rocky movie of all time, and I love every one of them and have seen them all far too many times. I love Rocky 4 especially though. It’s not dark and gritty like the first 2 movies in the series that were made in the 70’s, this is instead a reflection of the times and is dripping with 80’s swagger all the way through.

The soundtrack is nothing short of amazing with awesome tunes by Survivor, John Cafferty and Robert Tepper. I especially love the training montage tune by Vince DiCola, it always makes me want to have a workout like I did when I was in my 20’s, these days this would just lead to me pulling a muscle though.

Brilliant work by the absolute legend Sly Stallone, and great acting as always from Carl Weathers, Burt Young, Talia Shire and especially Dolph Lundgren as the Siberian Bull, Ivan Drago.

It still kills me every time The Dancing Destroyer, The King of Sting, The Count of Monte Fisto, The Prince of Punch, The Master of Disaster, The One and Only Apollo Creed dies.

This was definitely (Hopefully) not the last time I will have watched this movie!

Rocky’s action film
Verified purchase
Rocky 4 isa film you either love or hate. If you grew up in the 80’s you’ll probably have fond memories of this one. Its more like a traditional action film of the period, than the dark drama of the original film. Yes the movie is pretty much just training montages and 80’s rock, but its simple setup is quite entertaining. This is just two muscle bound lugs going at each other, possibly to the death. When I was young the whole East v West angle was completely lost on me. But even years later its actually not that important, it was more about Rocky facing his ultimate test. For me this is one of the better films in the Rocky pantheon, it certainly beats out the boring third installment and the terrible fifth film. Its perhaps not for everyone, but if you remember the days of Rambo’s and Predators this fits right along side them.
