It's still early with my new shoes, but as a plantar facistiis sufferer, I am constantly looking for a comfortable shoe. A co-worker told me to try Rockport, and this is my first pair of those.

The shoe looks nice. Clean and stylish. The comfort is perfect. These shoes do not bind on my feet the way other brands do. And, I didn't have to cough up a fortune for them. This pair was right around the 50 dollar mark.

I have only walked around in them for a few times extensively, but my feet pain has not been aggravated. The real test will be after the first few months, but things look promising so far.

I have wide feet. They seem wide enough. I'm not pushing out the sides. Just walking a few steps in my apartment I can tell it will rub my little toes the wrong way. I have shoe with linings that prevent this. My Merrell Jungle Moc Mesh I can wear without socks even though they are narrow. I have leather shoes by Rockport that have a protective lining as well. That includes the Rocsports Lite 2. There are other Rockports that don't have a protective lining as well. I got a 11 W in hopes it would be wide enough that the lining woldn't come into play in case. Length wise I could wear a 10 and a half. I'm not sure if 11 and a half W would be wide enough.

Lighter duty than their appearance

You kind of get the impression these are more substantial shoes from the appearance in the photos, they're not. These are honestly more like "sneakers". They're comfortable, light, and attractive, but not at all heavy duty.
They seemed to have been a little smaller than normal for the given size.

Shoes were a little tight at first, but eventually stretched out and now they fit great. My only complaint is that they have virtually no traction. I live in the Midwest and we deal with a lot of ice & snow, and these shoes are like ice skates! Other than that, they look great and are good quality.

Purchased this pair of shoes for my husband. He loves it so very much- everything about it! He said it is so comfortable and fits perfectly. Haven't given it 5 star as I want to test the quality after he has given it a few more wears.

I have placed the brown one in my cart already but waiting for a discount. I was hoping it would be the same price as the black one when I bought it last Sunday - it has gone up since also.

For the money, these shoes are pretty well made. There is a noticeable difference between the higher end Rockports and the mid-range ones. These, I got for general wear, including outdoors. I usually wear between size 11.5 and 12, and I opted for the size 12 medium. Maybe an 11.5 wide would have been a better fit for me, but the 12 medium are still comfortable enough.

Great for personal orthotic inserts

I use personal orthotic inserts now, so it can be really hit-or-miss with sizing. I am a size 8 and bought a size 8. The Rockport gel inserts were easily removable, and my custom orthotic insert fit perfectly. There was just enough room - not too tight with socks and insert and whole foot held in place well without feeling tight. Heel is narrow and softly cushioned. Super light for a "sturdy" walking shoe. Pretty great right out of the box. No chafing. Very pleased. Should be a good traveling shoe. If they don't last forever, who cares? They are very reasonably priced.

These are sturdy but much lighter than the Rockports I've been wearing for work. They almost allow me to keep up with a terrier pup. Comfortable and my feet didn't get wet walking in the rain.

I wear these daily for the past month or so. They seem to be made pretty well and have stayed true to form so far. My only suggestion, which is not really an issue with the shoes at all, is that they would be a little more comfortable with a bit more cushion material inside the shoe. Maybe something like Sketchers puts in their shoes I guess.
