Great shoes that are good for a bad back.

I bought these for my dad after he had complained about his old shoes. He had a pair (different brand) that he bought less than a year ago and they fell apart and were killing his feet. I encouraged him to try rockport and he is in love.

Pros:
- They are water resistant, as they are leather.
- they have a good amount of grip in the sole, and so far no slipping (even in snow)
- they are extremely comfortable (Dad wears them every day)
- Dad has major back issues, and these help with that and don’t hurt his feet
- he’s had them for over a month and they still look new, even with daily wear.

Cons
- Haven’t heard any complaints yet, so no downside right now.

Rocking my Rockports

I love Rockport, and I’ve worn them for years. I usually wear size 14, but for Rockport it’s size 13. They always fit perfect, and this was no exception. I wouldn’t call them walking shoes. These are more for casual wear, or at the office. I noticed they have less stitching than my last pair. Don’t wear them in the winter, that will destroy them. The material also seems to be a slight downgrade. Overall though they should last for years if you take care of them. Only one minor thing bothers me, and that’s the laces. They always come untied, so I have to buy better ones. A quality shoe, at an awesome price.

I haven't worn these much yet. I bought them for an upcoming vacation. They are not built like I am used to from Rockport, but they will be very light in my suitcase. They do look decent, but a little cheap. There are probably better choices out there.

"leather" is cracking and color flaking off after just a couple months wearing. No arch support that I can detect, soles make weird squish noise when walking. Laces won't stay tied. I would send them back but didn't start wearing them until after return window closed. Absolutely awful shoes.

Not very good insoles. I have B width foot so these were still a little big. Comfortable and light weight. Strings must be double tied or they come untied. Wish I’d bought 2 pair !

Seriously, probably the most uncomfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever worn. With a little over 100 miles in them in 30 days, they are still hard, stiff, and clunky. The fake plastic leather doesn’t flex and the plastic sole is like walking on, well, hard plastic. I thought I’d try these based on the price, and honestly, I didn’t expect great shoes, but I was still disappointed. The days of quality Rockport shoes are gone.

I really like these. Second pair I’ve owned. However, as another noted, my left shoe makes a popping sound. Thought it was a defect pair so I got a replacement. Sound still happens. It comes from the leather snapping back flat over the toes once you lift your foot when walking. Strange.
