1 h 46 min202013+
Everyone can agree that It's a Wonderful Life is one of the most famous Christmas movies of all time, nearly on par with Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny, and Santa's Christmas Circus. Join us for this special RiffTrax parody edit of the film which contains a slightly shorter version of the original movie combined with a comedic commentary by Mike, Kevin and Bill from RiffTrax (formerly of MST3K).

Awful 4k blu Ray picture quality
Verified purchase
This is just about my all time favourite movie. Obviously I already have the bluray and when I heard it was coming out on 4k blu-ray it was a must have
Today it arrived and oh boy, it looks awful.ive compared it to the original bluray release and it's grossly inferior
What have they done to this classic movie?
I would return this movie to amazon if I could but its not faulty its just got dreadful 4k Picture quality
I won't be playing this again and I'm stuck with two highly priced discs that aren't even fit to be coasters
Yes it's that bad

Perfect - a huge improvement on the DVD release

Paramount have done a superb job with this Blu-Ray release, focussing on the things that really matter - restoring and remastering the picture from the original negatives, making it as clear and fresh as it was on release, and presenting a crystal clear soundtrack in Dolby TrueHD 2.0 mono so you hear every word clearly, every bell that rings is tinkly and magical (attaboy, Clarence).

This is the original black and white presentation, thankfully, not the colourised abomination (which both Jimmy Stewart and Frank Capra campaigned against, albeit for different reasons).

A truly magical film, given a gentle, sensitive and effective dust and polish. Perfect.

4K inferior
Verified purchase
Nothing inferior regarding this movie, it’s a beautiful classic, highly recommended. However, the 4K version is basically and unequivocally “crap”, if not for a better word. The disc isn’t fit for purpose - buy the Blu-ray version and don’t waste your money on the 4K version, it’s not worth the shelf space and would be better all around if I just popped it in the bin.

It wasn’t for the want of trying, spending several minutes adjusting my Sony tv but to no avail; just to reset it back… I’ll be sticking with my Blu-ray edition. Hopefully this’ll help. If I could get a refund I would. I won’t be as eager in future to waste my money.

Great picture and sound. This purchase is a no brainer.

I pressed the buy now tab and placed my order and only afterwards did i read the reviews on this page. I immediately had buyers remorse and worried that I had wasted my money...

I need not have worried! I received this 4k disc in the post today and the presentation is simply stunning and in my opinion totally lives up to the hype. The picture and sound are simply stunning.

If you own this already on blu ray and wondering whether this 4k is worth the upgrade, well in my humble opinion, the answer to that question is a resounding YES!

NOT colour!
Verified purchase
I know there was a colour version released a few years ago and assumed that the 4K version was also but it’s not, after watching it I thought ok perhaps the blu ray version that came with it might have been but unfortunately that’s in black and white also I wonder why?
The 4k version does have a few glitches visually but that’s ok it’s around 75 years old after all and the the sound and picture are not always in synch (or is that just on my setup for some reason?)
For all that it’s still a truly great film that I remember watching on tv as a child, I didn’t realise it the time of course but it was still a relatively new(ish) film.....hell I’m getting

Watched movie last night on 4k, it was also on Sky full hd at the same time so was flicking back and forth comparing picture.
I have to say the picture was much better on the Sky channel much more detailed. clearer ,blacks more black just overall a better picture on Sky.
Just don't understand how this can be,
so disappointed .
Also the 4K package I bought is the UK version ,the USA version looks exactly the same but Disc 2 which is Blu Ray has the colourized version which the UK version has the black and white one.
So if u are going to buy this which I would not recommend buy the USA version.

Excellent Christmas movie, and looks incredible in 4k.
Verified purchase
No point in reviewing the movie - it's just brilliant, makes me feel happy and Christmas-y every time I watch it.

For such an old movie, this looks amazing in 4K. Obviously it isn't going to look like anything like a new movie, and this is not the colourised version, but the detail on certain shots is amazing. I am sure this looks far better than it ever did when people saw at the cinema originally.

Not as expected

I have this film in Blu Ray so expected this 4k release to be perfect, better than 1080p. I was however disappointed with the level of grain visible particularly having read all of the hype.
