Not like the game

As a resident evil game fan, that was the worse film I've ever seen. I was ready to be disappointed but my god, it was a complete travesty and sacrilege to call it a film close to source material. Everything was mixed up and made no sense. The film was too rushed and too condensed. Actor choice very questionable. Cheap throw backs that didn't fit in, to try and get to the fans but backfired massively, completely misplaced and not amusing or the cause of any nostagia. Very cringy most of the time.. very hard to watch as a big fan of the games. Most of the source material missed and overall, lazy writing. Terrible cgi on all counts.. backgrounds...first inside mansion shot.. zombies and creatures... jurassic Park had better cgi in the 90s.. cgi gun fire was awful, out of sync from actors reactions and looked bad. I would rate it less than a B movie...and even B movies can be classics.. but not this one.

Terrible depiction of the first two video games!

Where to start...

1. They've tried to cram 2 games (RE and RE2) in to one movie. Making both stories rushed.
2. Chris and Claire were not orphans brought up by umbrella. Not even sure why this was even in the film.
3. All the characters in the movie are nothing like there video game counterparts. Leon for example is depicted as a moron with no clue how to handle a gun. Plus the actor portraying Leon looks absolutely nothing like the video game version.
4. The acting is atrocious, seen better acting from children in a school play.

I had high hopes for this film since it was going to actually follow the source material unlike the Jovovich films which just did there own thing, but ultimately they messed it up and I have to say the Jovovich films are marginally better.

Avoid like the plague and only watch it if your life depends on it.

Somehow worse than the Jovovich movies.

From awful CGI, to a completely miscast cast, this is not a good movie. I mean, who thought that an utterly incompetent Leon, or a psychopathic Jill with the hots for Wesker was a good idea? The plot plays out at an inconsistent pace, there are numerous plot points that go literally nowhere, and the dialogue can be cringeworthy. At least the sets were pretty good though.

first of all..... alice was all of this film APART from this one... zombie talking??? it just completely ruined it.

and it was coonfusing is it going back in time , or copying the actual film as previous? maybe.
it was rather disappointment. and poor activate part like fire. it just so fake. even though its acting obv. but other good film is nearly reality. but this film competely ruin the whole of resident evil. its whole disapointment. esp a dopey cop turn to hero yeah thats good. the huge alien yeah i liked that part with train. but rest whole of zombie thing, and virus cause by whole different thing. its just one big mess . im disappointed. nt worth 15.99 for sure.... gotta be honest. im a proper zombie obsession film. if i had choice id rather watch walking dead or proper resident evil with alice in.... but this film compeletly different.

Really wanted this film to be good

Just didn’t compare to the original movies. Had lots of recognisable actors in, but it didn’t pay off at all. Didn’t find myself rooting for any of the characters. Felt a bit all over the place, with lots going on but nothing really going on either. The zombies weren’t scary or well done either.

Great References the Games and overall very enjoyable but could have benefited from being 2 films

Loved the stories of both the police station and the mansion however does rush the stories at either locations, Characters and acting very good in my opinion cgi for monster a bit weak but does not ruin the film in any way. However effects and design for the zombies are excellent. I'm a huge fan of the games so loved the references throughout the film to both the old and new RE games. Was obvious the director was a fan of the games and really made an effort to portray this in the film. Overall was much better than my expectation and much much better than the older RE films. and Loved all the 90s music that fit in very well to different scenes.

What a disappointment

I had such high hopes for this.
I love the games and the games storyline...has the writer or director actually played them???
Casting was awful as was the script.
And blending the first two games together didn't work.
If they make another film I will not watch it.
The games are amazing because of the storyline. Why do film makers always fiddle with them?
This could have been something really special.... they made it mediocre at best.

Not worth watching

Very disappointed with this film, I think after watching all the other resident evil films I was just expecting more from this latest chapter, the special effects are good but found the story weak. It just didn't grip me, I would of been disappointed paying £5.99 to go cinema to watch this even more disappointed that I paid £15.99 to just rent it, this will not be in my bluray collection.
