This is my wife and I's favourite film. We love that it can be watched no matter what mood you're in and it will always give that feel-good feeling. The acting throughout is superb, as is the overall story line; there's magic, heartbreak, love and friendship - everything you need for a great film! I don't want to give anything away and spoil it for you, but I definitely recommend watching it. We bought it as the digital format and are very happy as we can now watch it whenever we like. 5 stars!

A beautiful film that will make you smile

This film is one of my favourites of all time. Perfect for late September/Early October when the leaves start to turn and you start to feel you want to snuggle up with a warm apple juice.

The story of the Owen's women's cursed love lives draws you in, with the magical element adding even more intrigue to this delightful film. The storyline keeps you hooked from the word go as you route for these two women to overcome their challenges and the ending is heartwarming to say the least - you might even shed a happy tear or two!

Very enjoyable

I remember as a kid I wasn't allowed to watch this but the OST of 'This Kiss' by Faith Hill always had me intrigued. The beginning is absolutely brilliant when that song begins and the magic happens... then there is heartbreak shortly after. Then there's drama and then there's love again with hints of magic throughout. I really like Nicole Kidman as an actress but I think Sandra Bullock is fantastic in this. It does bring out different emotions which is what I liked most about it and to me that's what is necessary to hold my attention and what movies should be about.

Great film with really strong female cast
Verified purchase
I love horror / fantasy films and don't usually do romance but this I could handle! The cast was really strong with a great script for ladies. I'm really used to women in films being someone's girlfriend or a victim that gets bumped off to prove what a baddie the bad guy is or someone that brings in the tea. It's great to see a film with lots of distinct female characters that rang true (maybe not the casting spells bit...).

Whimsical and magical

I love this movie! I haven't watched it in years but it filled me with nostalgia for the 90s. A great story about family, magic and love. It also has a fab soundtrack!

Not practical but sweet

I enjoyed this film so very much. It's not a practical treatise on magic. That would be a long series of television programmes in black and white and probably in a dead language with subtitles. There is a love story, a murder mystery, magic, borderline horror (but the kind that comes in the stories children tell at halloween, not the kind that's R-rated and gory) all rolled into one. And there are laughs, and Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. Stir it all together in a bubbling cauldron and you've got a lovely movie for a cold winter's day.

Funny, romantic, moving, will appeal to anyone interested in witchcraft...

Despite the negative press on this film I really liked this film. I found it funny, romantic and moving. It definitely appeals to anyone interested in witch craft or the supernatural. (If you enjoyed watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the 90s you will like this). It’s a bit scary at times but not too scary.

An absolute classic. Will never get over how good this film is. If only more excellent witchy films like this came out. Perfect Halloween film, no gore, just fun.
