Chocolat meets Fight Club. Cage is great.

Fans of National Treasure and Con Air this is not for you. Pig is like nothing Cage has ever done before but he steals the show. A slow burning, atmospheric movie showing the underbelly of the surprisingly cut-throat restaurant scene in Portland. A strangely moral tale too- Cage goes from hobo to healer.

An atmospheric slow burner with an outstanding performance from Cage.

By now everyone will now the premise of this film. A man who lives the life of a hermit in remote woods ventures into the big city in search of his stolen pig. Parts of his past resurface as his tale progresses. Nicolas Cage gives an outstanding performance as a severely damaged individual who has to revisit places and people he left years before and has spent the latter half of his life avoiding.

Nicholas Cage searching for his stolen pig.

Robin Feld (Cage) leads a hermit like existence in a ramshackle cabin in a forest where he and his pig hunt for truffles, which he sells to make a living.
All good until someone steals his pig, giving Feld a beating for good measure.
In true Nicholas Cage fashion, still covered in blood and wearing a coat over the long John's he was sleeping in, he sets out to find said pig.
Turns out Robin was a Chef of some renown before something caused him to quit.
This film doesn't go where you think it will. That and Cage's (for him) understated performance make it worth a look.

It had no beginning, middle, and end. As for the storyline, it was just pants. a very silly film indeed.

5* because it`s weird and off the wall

One of those marmite films; you either love it or hate it. I get the impression that N Cage enjoyed making this movie, it`ll never be a huge earner but as a fan fav it may become a cult classic. Shame the DVD has no extras, as I would have liked to know more about the films inception.

Rented @ £1.99 and nearly didn't watch what turned out to be my film of the year

A simple very quirky film with a fairy tale type atmosphere filmed in the same Oregon forests as "Leave no Trace" - my film of the year from 2018 or 19.

Not much to say other than there is a loaded portent throughout and it is very , very hard to not disappear into it.

Sad in parts, heartbreaking in others but somehow very fulfilling.

The Best from Nic Cage in years.

Absolutely awful

After all the hype about this film and being amazing and the greatest Nicholas Cage film ever, we decided to try it, even paid £3.50 to do so.

The film is boring, slow and a complete waste of money and time.
I wouldn't recommend it, even if it was free.
