Those awful voices

I managed only a few minutes - the child actors have all the bad habits associated with so many examples: over-loud, grating voices, cuteness tipping into vulgarity, and the grace and agility of three-legged hippopotami; a decent director and diction coach would have put an end to this. I couldn't bear the thought of a whole filmful of this stuff.

The nazi rats are funny and scary at the same time

Rich imaginative film. The nazi rats are funny and scary at the same time. The king rat's face sometimes morphs into fangs which sensitive children might find frightening. There are many magical images, like the huge Christmas tree, but also the outside town scenes have the feel of second world war news reels. It is surreal and magical and has a happy ending. Perfect Christmas film. And my son is humming Tchaikovsky as he plays with his new drone...

The Nutcracker film, which does not include all of Tchaikowsky's original music or the ballet.
Verified purchase
Delivery fine. However, I thought that I was going to listen to the music and watch the ballet. This DVD is a film, obviously for children, which is not about Tchaikowsky's music or the ballet. As such I was completely disappointed with it, and it had no subtitles. This might be enjoyed by children, but not by me. I am not having to search for the correct DVD

a little odd but a nice twist on a classic

The Nutcracker ...a little odd but a nice twist on a classic. Not stuffy although a couple of moments can make anyone jump!! The mouse King - in my opinion is the exact copy of the 'Kiddi catcher' in chitty bang bang - very creepy! All in all though it was an interesting movie

Good story, possibly not for young children

Alternative Nutcracker, I've seen it on tv before. I like it, a bit darker take on the original
