New Balance had slowly but sure began constricting and tightening their shoes. From the early models of the 1080s and 1260s to the later models I had noticed a drastic difference. So much so that my left foot began going numb during runs. This shoe is very reminiscent of an early model 1080 or 1260 (V1 or V2). It provides an extremely roomy forefoot. No constriction whatsoever. That being said, if you have a narrow foot, this shoe is not for you. The first thing I noticed with this shoe was a slight wobble and a minute amount of pressure under my arch. This goes away with time, but I think it is more about getting used to it than breaking in the shoe. Also, the sole of the shoe is very sticky. An analogy would be comparing racing tires to long lasting truck tires. I can see the wear even from running on my treadmill. I can actually see the sole leaving minute remnants after an hour of running on my treadmill. Anyhow, if you found the later models of the 1260 and 1080 to be constrictive, this is a good training shoe and I recommend it.

After two 3 plus mile runs, they seem like great shoes, will update as I increase mileage. These are a 6mm running shoes that comes in widths. I've been running in New Balance Boracays 4mm and Altra One's 0mm for the last 4 years, these are a little higher in the heel and it feels like they want to keep pushing you down the road and don't want to stop. The cushion is just enough to get a good return from the ground but not mushy. The upper stretches a little more than I would like, it feels like its getting loose at times, but might wind up conforming to my foot.

01/11/2019 update, after two 9 plus mile runs, the only problem I have is that the insole keeps sliding up the back on the heel, I can deal with that issue, other than that, these are great, lightweight running shoes. Similar to Saucony Kinvara's but wider.

Watch their prices, dropped down to $47.59 right after I bought them, so put another pair in my cart. Waited a week and went to place the order and they jumped back up to $119.00

I've been running 860's for 5 years or so and I didn't like the v10 so I decided to try something else and these are fantastic. With most shoes I wear a 10 if I can get wides or 10.5 if not. These are perfect for me in 10 wide.
Someone else commented that the tread wears quickly. I can't tell how long they will last yet but the sole is this really soft and flexible which makes for a super smooth ride. I don't know if I would like it as much if it were stiff. And really these are for hard surface running, how much tread do you need?
Anyway, great shoes.

This is one of the best shoes I've ever owned. I wear it almost everyday for the last 14 months including for working out and it still holds its comfort and shape. For me generally, the heel part of my shoes gets worn very quickly, but not this Shoe. I am so glad I purchased it. Its also helped my back support.

People who have asked me about the shoe typically do because it looks sharp and really nice. I think I have helped NB sell at least 20 of this shoe by telling people more about it than just the looks.

These shoes feel amazing. I'm a pretty large person with very flat feet, but these shoes have mitigated knee/ankle pain better than anything I've tried before. They're also incredibly light and reasonably comfortable. They accommodate my wide/flat feel well.

One underrated quality is the energy return these shoes provide when taking a step. There's a noticeable little "bounce" they give you, which makes each stride a bit easier.

The only thing I don't love about these shoes is that they have a recessed heel, as opposed to one that sticks out and provides more support. If I could change one thing about thing about these shoes, it would be that.

I will definitely look at NB before any other brand when buying my next pair of running sneakers.

I wish I wish so much that these had been perfect because they’re the most expensive shoes I’ve ever bought but unfortunately that it not the case. They fit really well for one week but the right shoe started deforming at the toe and the soles of both shoes slip and slides all over the place. I got these to be my main running shoe but now its reserved for short dog walks because the sliding sole is super uncomfortable.
