Interesting film based on a captain Nemo plot,

With Patrick Stewart, thought this film and its part 2 would boldly go where no other film has been, unfortunately did not really get there, it was entertaining enough for me to watch part 1 and 2, but mostly in hope it was going to get better, I’d you like big plastic insects eating people on a desert island with a volcano that’s doing it’s best for global warming then this is the film for you.

Adventure Movie of a mysterious and unexpected nature!

Watched Part One and Two because I found it so enjoyable. It has a gripping storyline, full of twists and turns. At some points during the movie's I was literally at the edge of my seat, shouting at the TV. I thoroughly enjoyed both film and would highly recommend to those of us who enjoy science fiction and action adventure at the same time. Grab a large bowl of Popcorn, 1 large bar or your favourite chocolate and a long cold soft drink with Ice. Strap in folks and enjoy the ride. 5 ***** stars from me.

It's bigger on the inside.

Size of the island (very small) with loads giant "Monsters" No way this island can support them all.
Lots ships or rocks that can move in the distance. Vapor trails from some thing Maybe a Dragon or an aircraft. Now I am only on part one. So maybe their is portal that brings in the "Monsters" or grows Ants and animals (Monsters) to large size. But for now I am sticking with it's Bigger on the inside.
Maybe I will never know as this is just about watchable rubbish.

This is not the right version
Verified purchase
This is not the 1995 version as advertised with Alan Scarfe as Cyrus which is 7.1 on IMDB. This is the vastly inferior 2005 version with Kyle Mac Lachlan as Cyrus. (4.1 on IMDB)

Worst special effects ever

How can you afford expensive actors and spend pennies on special effects. Good story but totally unwatchable. Patrick Stewart should
Be ashamed of being in this. As usual money trumps character. Celebs are a disgusting breed of narcissistic people.

Extremely enjoyable to watch
Initially I wasn't impressed. The first scene is of pirates walking through a cave tunnel and the acting was more like a panto than a film. However, I am glad I stuck it out because it had a string of really good actors who were relaxed enough to put on a really fun and compelling performance because they were obviously enjoying themselves doing it.
Jason Durr put on a brilliant southern accent for his performance as Pencroff, a confederate officer. Omar Gooding (Cuba's brother) played a slave named Neb and the two became firm friends after their escape from prison in the balloon.
Other actors include Patrick Stewart as Captain Nemo, who wasn't given nearly enough screen time and Roy Marsden played his manservant Joseph brilliantly.
Everyone played their parts to the hilt and the scenes between the actors and the CGI creatures was extremely impressive, except the rat where it faultered here an there.
Overall I loved it a lot more than I thought I would. Honestly, a really fun film which had me grinning all the way through it..and so on to more adventures in part 2.

Patrick Stewart rocks
How very narcissistic, to think someone should earn a living based on your tastes. The film is fairly enjoyable, not the best, but not the worst either.
