I do have one major bugbear with these boots. Walking in wet weather is lethal. Walking over wet stone, concrete and wood is akin to having teflon boots on. I've come close to disaster once or twice while climbing and this afternoon I had my first fall in them. I walked down some granite steps and the boots slipped as soon as my foot touched down on the first step. No lasting damage but others may not be so lucky. Mountain warehouse need to look at solutions to the grip in the wet. This is the only reason it has lost stars.
In summary, these boots are fine for dry weather hiking or shorter walks on flat terrain. I'll be trying traction spray in hope that solves the problem for me.
Edit: just completed my 5th walk in these boots. No longer waterproof, insoles have started slipping out from the back of the boot and soles look to be starting to come away from the uppers. Now shopping for another pair. Reasonable priced boot, expensive mistake.
Firstly they look good & they feel like they’re made to a high standard. They’re quite narrow though and I don’t have particularly wide feet. This snug fit proved beneficial for overall foot stability walking up rocky paths etc. A strange observation was that the laces too never came undone during a 4 hour walk which was a pleasant surprise!
Are they waterproof? Yes! A walk up Ben Lomond through mud, puddles, small streams and a never ending downpour of rain proved that these are indeed waterproof.
Overall these boots are great value for money. They tick a lot of boxes for me, however they’re definitely going to be too narrow if you have wide feet. The boots are sturdy, waterproof and never left me with any blisters on the first time wearing them for 4 hours. I’d definitely recommend them!
All in all the boots are terrific.
