This American TV series is about a group of people who work for a secret Agency in America

This American made television series follows a group of several main characters who work for a secret organisation ,and go around doing things in the episodes. This TV series doesn't have much in the way action scenes in it and, it is really a character driven TV show it does have a few scenes where you see the characters using gadgets like in the James Bond films though.

The original IMF

Starting off with one of the most instantly recognizable theme tunes and opening sequences of all time which shows clips of the upcoming episode, Mission Impossible is classic tv. While the Tom Cruise films are good fun and good entertainment they do feel compared to the tv series a dumbed down version and the tv series is a lot smarter. A lot slower too, don't go expecting non stop action if all you know is the Tom Cruise films, the tv series is more of a drama or thriller but the series is very tense with a great cast lead in the first season by Steven Hill. Peter Graves' Jim Phelps would come later in season 2 and the cast also includes the excellent Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. The made up countries for missions that take the team behind enemy lines in Eastern Europe and South America are a good laugh and obviously done to avoid causing offense but on the whole this is one of the best tv shows ever made and a must buy for lovers of classic tv.

Mission Impossible .. as great as you remember.

The very name "Mission Impossible" resonates in the memory, and memory proves correct as we watch the devious and intriguing solutions to the impossible missions.

When Dan Briggs "Steven Hill" decides to "accept the mission" and the messages "self destruct in five seconds" another great episode is under way. Even so the series takes some time to reach its superb full potential with "Zubrovnik's Ghost" where the writers discover greater depth which continues throughout the series.

The team of five has two outstanding performers leading nearly every episode. Rollin' Hand (Martin Landau)master of disguise and a fine actor, and the glamorous Cinnamon Carter (Barbara Bane) the epitome of a 1960s film star always with major parts (no way the eye candy usually offered) who won two Emmys for her performances.

They are backed up by Barney Collier (Greg Morris) the tech expert teamed with driver and hefty weightlifter in real life Willy Armitage) (Peter Lupus who was so popular with women he even kept his marriage secret).

Add masses of fascinating obsolete technologies and this is a must have set.

Memory Lane

Watching Mission Impossible is like a stroll on Memory Lane. Although I got to know Mission Impossible with another main character Jim. Actualy there were two. The latter was after the one in the first season series and the second season series. I can't remember Barbara Eden in the series that I watched back then. Ofcourse there used to be a lag between releases in the US and Curacao. Maybe a third season package will do fine. It's great that one can take a stroll down Memory Lane.

I always loved Mission Impossible as a kid, but the box sets seemed very expensive, and I didn't want the bulky box and all the show details either. The streaming version is great value and high quality.
