Perfect for 6-10 year olds

A mixture of clay animation, and Russian cartoon. Tell the story of the run up to the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection. Very compelling, and sensitively done. Well cast. Perfect for 6-10 year olds. But great for all the family. If watching with younger children some explations will be needed and a wee bit scary in parts. My son wanted to watch it several times over the Easter Season.

Wonderful animated presentation of the Gospel story

I loved this film when it was first released at the cinema and bought it on video. Now I love it just as much on dvd. There is a wonderful cast who provide the voices for the characters, including Ralph Fiennes as Jesus. I find it a compelling retelling of the Gospel story and the crucifixion scene is very moving (actually I wept). Highly recommended for all the family.

I watched it with friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience

I first saw this film at the cinema when it was initially released some years ago, and bought the dvd recently because I wanted to see it again. I watched it with friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is a film suitable for all ages, and although it is an animated film it somehow captures the key moments in Jesus' life, and vividly portrays the various characters involved. I feel that if Jesus himself sat and watched the dvd he would be delighted with it! Suitable to show to anyone, whether they are people of faith or not.

Lovely film

A lovely film, inspirational and well made, I really love this one. It tells the story of Jesus through animation and must have been a very big project for the animators. A joy to watch. I often think of it. The message gives life meaning.

Lovely dvd. The first one my brother bought for my children, and because they loved it so much we ordered one for our Pastor friends sons, they also loved it. We have just ordered another one for another friends little girls birthday. The whole things is well made, the voices fit each character well and the music is lovely. Really lovely. Cannot recommend enough for children (and adults to enjoy)

I am not ken on cartoons or any kind of wallis and grommet type graphic movies as a first choice for viewing , so I bought this cos it had good reviews for my grandchildren. It's absolutely brilliant. Riveting viewing , for adults and children.
It's thoughtfully done with a lot of apparent historic detail and not sure how accurate but looked it.
It tackles the subject matter in a slightly different we. Eg the carpenters complaining about Jesus leaving his work as a carpenter and they are not sure why.
Quite delightful.
Have not watched the end yet though too busy!!

Must watch for the kids and adults

I watched this as a child years ago on VHS, and still love it watching it again. The stories are put together and summed up in a format for everyone to understand. It is entertaining, but there is one or two scenes that are kind of visually creepy, but it should be fine for most children.

Miraculous animation!

The Miracle Maker brilliantly tells the life of Jesus with the most ingenious
clay animation. The story it reveals will definitely appeal to those who have
grown up enjoying children's television and such creative programmes as
Thunderbirds, well made cartoons and characters such as Morph on Vision On.

The Miracle Maker is an incredible labour of love which both the young and
the young at heart will find enjoyable.
