The Camo print is really nice and the features such as pockets, storm flap, hood and fleece are good strong and practical. I was a little disappointed with velcro on the front hand pockets as these can a bit noisy to open (i am using this jacket mainly for birdwatching and hiking in cold conditions)..but you can once open you can tuck the flaps inside. The hood is big with an inbuild peak at the front to help keep the rain off. the hood has some adjustment but i think was design for wearing with a cap or hat underneath.
Where this jacket is different to others like the 90's style german surplus flecktarn that i have been using is that you get a really good length and width in the arms and really good freedom of movement for the upper body when you need to lift stuff or climb.
i havent tried it in the rain and snow yet but it looks and feels like it will be a good performer.
On reflection i could have gone for a size medium but i am happy what i have got. Hope this helps
UPDATE Dec 2020: Still in regular use and still very good condition. Very water proof and good in the cold. Other plus points are the 'snow skirt' on the inside of the outer-shell. Although the jacket is generous in width room (chest, waist, arm length) to help movement the jacket is not especially long. If you do up the 'snow skirt' before zipping up then this stops rain and cold from getting to your back when you have to sit on cold and wet surfaces. This is particularly usful when you are just wearing the jacket without the fleece (i.e Summer in the U.K when it rains alot) Still only negative are the velcro on the pockets (i.e. noisy and scratch your hands a little if you not wearing gloves.) I will look towards amending those.
