I needed decent boots for trekking part of the Inca trail. I was worried about buying new as the trek was only a few weeks away and I had read all the warnings about using new boots that hadn't been broken in. However, I'd had Merrell walking sandals before, my partner had used Merrell boots and I knew both were super comfortable. Also some reviews I read about these boots said that they had been used brand new on hikes and had been completely fine, so I took the chance. I hiked 8 hours on rocky, uneven, steep and sometimes slippery ground and had no pain, rubbing or blisters whatsoever at the end of the hike.

I have long, narrow feet, so needed a size up from my usual shoe size and this meant no bruised toes. During the rainy part of the trek, my feet stayed dry and they felt light to wear. I'd totally recommend these boots for comfort, waterproofing and grip and they're a great choice if you don't have time to break them in.

I've just completed a walk across North Wales, walking about 12 miles a day for 2 weeks. I wanted some lighter weight boots for the journey and these certainly fitted the bill in that respect. They have performed excellently, and with the use of some moleskin (reviewed elsewhere), kept my feet comfortable and blister free each and every day. They felt secure and gripped well in a variety of terrains.
I cannot be sure whether they are waterproof, as each day, my feet would feel damp. This may be due to the non breathability of the goretex liner though, rather than moisture penetrating from the outside. In long, wet grass, moisture certainly came in over the top of the boots which is perhaps to be expected...gaiters may help there.
Overall, I have been very pleased with them and I just hope I shall get many more miles out of them.
As always with walking boots, I bought a half size larger than my usual size to accommodate my feet swelling over the day...the sizing had been perfect for me.

I previously ordered merrel boots in a 6.5 thinking I needed some extra room but subsequently returned for my normal size 6 as the 6.5 allowed my heel to lift off the sole of the shoe, even with slightly thicker walking socks on.
These boots endured an 18.7mile/30km trek across a variety of terrain. They fit perfectly and after such a long walk I only got one minor blister on my little toe and a tiny blister on the heel, I did also have on antiblister socks. Pretty good going for the distance I think though and being the first time I had worn them. For shorter hikes I reckon my feet would have been fully intact.
Waterproof wise they were excellent, however, I did spray with a waterproofing product (kiwi) so not sure who should take credit for that but I would always recommend additional waterproofing anyway, just to be sure. We crossed three streams and multiple muddy puddles in these boots and my feet were dry at the end of the day.
Great colour, they make you look like a pro. I highly recommend these boots.

I had been looking for this colour version of this shoe in my size everywhere! I was so excited that this was available in my size UK 6.5 and ordered immediately. Unfortunately Amazon (not the seller) had put the incorrect sizing on the product and a US 6.5/UK size 4 arrived. Gutted! The seller has been excellent and I am able to return the shoes for free. I ordered another colour/correct size elsewhere but in terms of a review, these shoes are excellent and I would highly recommend them, great fit, comfortable, lightweight, waterproof and a great all round shoe. I now only buy Merrell because they are worth every penny and they do half sizes.

Have walked in mud, rain and snow in these boots. I regularly cross a stream and walk through big puddles in the woods when dog walking. These boots are excellent and I have never had wet feet. They are extremely comfortable. I felt the laces were a little short so I fitted some elasticated no tie laces and they work really well. I got them because I purchased some Merrell walking trainers 2 years ago and they have been excellent. Hoping these last as long as I wear them daily in the autumn and winter.
I have been extremely pleased with my purchase so far.

Very very pleased, these boots were comfortable from the first wearing (no rubbing) I'm a size five and a half so bought size six and wear them with thick socks. I've walked through fields with very wet, long grass and no leakage into the boots and I've had to walk through standing water about an inch deep and yet my feet stayed completely dry! I bought these and a Karrimoor pair at the same time and wear them on alternate days, both are exactly what I needed, these are a bit more expensive (but I think worth it.)

New to walking I've decided to try the 1000mile in a year challenge.. so it was important to find a comfy supportive pair of boots.
I tried some Salewa boots but they were too narrow for my wide feet, so after researching I decided to try these.
I'm a size 42 wide usually so ordered a size up.. they're probably on the large size and 42.5 may have been better but they will easily accommodate a thick pair of socks, they have a nice high arch supporting footbed and are comfortable on long walks.
I have sprayed them just in case so dont know if they are waterproof without the spray.. but no leaks so far!! Very happy!!

Needed a new pair of hiking boots for a while now and just kept putting it off. Bought these and 2 days later did an intense 7 hour hike. The guide book specifically said not to wear new boots on this hike, but to break them in elsewhere. With Merrell, you never have to break them in (as long as you buy the correct size. My usual size is 6 and size 6 in Merrell was perfect for me.) They are extremely comfortable right out the box. Wore them all day with no issues at all, and they are waterproof! Not a single blister or sore spot. I read reviews about some ordering a size up, but for me that wasn’t necessary. I highly recommend these boots to anyone!
