Excellent First Class Shoe, but I always buy 1/2 size bigger.

Great shoes, I am a UK standard size 8. With these shoes, I always buy 1/2 size bigger, that is the only negative remark. I have had 3 pairs of these shoes, having been tempted by others, and then coming back to Merrell.

Merrell has been my go to shoe for years. However, the last two pair I purchased have been sub par at best. Wore out much quicker than usual and this last pair never felt "right". The backs would bunch up, internally, and feel weird. Very disappointed. Have gone to another brand. Sorry Merrell....

This shoe fits a little snug out of the box but quickly forms to your foot giving amazing arch support with just the right amount of cushioning. I've worn these for a month now using them for 'urban hiking' lol, so I can't comment on actual day hiking ,etc but even so they show no signs of wear. I really hope Merrell never discontinues them.

Most reviewers thought they are too heavy,
I find them sturdy and a lot lighter than my full blown hiking boots.
Grip on slippery rocks and trees a little disapointing compared to former.
Feels like an inch of lift from these soles.
Glad I spent $30 more on these
as I can feel the extra quality over the CHEAPO's on this site.

have been wearing merrells for 10 years and every pair has fit me perfectly, I always buy the waterproof and they will last longer than one would expect. I always buy the waterproof shoes as I live in the pacific northwest (vancouver) which can be dewy some mornings . Don't even think twice when wearing my merrells. (you can even walk through puddles) You're feet don't get hot or sweaty in warmer weather.

Shoes are nice, the size is as expected, quality seems to be good.

The major problem for me:
On picture, we see the shoes identified as "iDry" (Merrell's equivalent of "Gore-Tex", which is breathable). I received nice shoes that are identified as "waterproof" (not breathable). I sweat too much to have waterproof shoes and I returned the product without even trying it.

Hiker is GREAT, came as ordered, quite fast!
Note, that sizes are not really “True to size” - I have personally found that US sizes runs smaller than Canadian size but I ordered the same US 10.5 size as my previous shoe, and thankfully, the exact same shoe arrived! My “true size” is actually 9.5 CAN! Thank you!

I have had about 10 pairs of these boots as they seem to be the widest fitting boot
They are probably the most comfortable short hiker I have ever had
The waterproof is mediocre
They last me about 6-7 months then loose some of their rigidity and support - which is a shame as the boot upper remains in good shape and the sole is in good shape too
I do wear them every day all day for yard work and walking and just out and about so really given they last 6-7 months that is not bad value for the comfort
Highly recommend for large people with wide feet!

I have had Merrill’s for a few years now and this pair didn’t disappoint . The fit was exact as were the previous pairs I have purchased . They were less expensive and had more selection than the sports stores . This is the only way I will purchase Running shoes in the future !

I purchased these shoes thinking of the quality Blisters Blisters Blisters I have wore off and on for about 6 weeks and every time blisters I walk about an hour a day I have to wait 4 days before I can wear again I would not recommend these shoes I wish I was able to return So uncomfortable Total waste of money
