Not waterproof at all

First ill start by saying I have owned these shoes, and work on a farm 10-16 hours a day 7 days a week. I purchased them because I don't like to wear boots, and I was hoping for a good pair of water resistant shoes. As far as quality these shoes have been great. They have held up to a great real world testing. Very comfortable out of the box and not bad looking. If I had purchased non water proof shoes i would have given 5 stars. Now as far as waterproof this shoe fails completely. If i am standing in water that barely covers the sole of the shoe water will wick straight into the shoes from day one. I have never punctured the shoe, let alone the lining. I hope that the pair I have been wearing are the exception not the standard.

Waterproofing Failed

It is now Christmas, 2021. A few months ago I found that both pairs of Merrills I purchased two years ago are no longer waterproof. They both failed in the toe box area. I wear these shoes daily. While the rest of both pair have held up well with very little wear, the failed waterproof feature that I paid extra for is a huge disappointment. I won't repeat the mistake.

8 months and the sole starts separating and the stitching comes out. Wearing these inside on concrete for work so no abuse other than from inside to a vehicle. Too bad for a reputable company to make such a poor product. I have the tall Moab II and the same thing is happening.

These are my go-to shoes for hiking, work, and daytime pub crawls. I have a pair that I use often and have a new pair on hand to rotate in when the others get ratty. I have a wide foot at 10-1/2 which is tough to find. I will buys these as long as they are available.
Not good for sporting like football, basketball, or any running as the ankle is high. Best to stick with walking/hiking/yardwork/work.

This is honestly one of the best shoes I've ever had. I had another pair of Merrells that I bought about 7 years ago which are still holding up. These are a lower cut, so easier to use for day to day. I've been enjoying the water proof and warmth while walking the dog this winter. Great traction on ice and snow, and wet grass hills. Definitely looking forward to using these this summer in the mountains.

I bought these shoes for a hiking trip in the Grand Tetons. They did not disappoint. Very comfortable, fit as expected. They are pretty heavy, but not so much you notice when they are on your feet. I did not test the water proof claim. These are a good option for those who hate bulky hiking boots. This lower topped, slip on slip off shoe is pretty awesome and can be used all around, even as a daily shoe in a business casual setting. Great job Merrell.

These shoes are just about perfect for me. I like the styling and color options. Vibram rubber sole is excellent. Rigid shoe with nice arch support. Waterproof and breathable. Decent weight. Fit perfect and feel like wearing slippers with boot soles. I'll probably buy the same model in mid height I like them so much.
