Overspent, too many characters, absurd, no real story

This is basically like watching someone else play a videogame whilst occasionally breaking off to emote melodramatically. I fell asleep within an hour. At times the scripting was better and there were 'clever' exchanges, but it was a script in dire need of something approaching being a play. If it had been a stage play it would have been laughed out of the theatre. The rhetoric of superhero films, their power, is purely dependent on sfx and action here, whereas elsewhere (Thor, Loki) the writing, directing and clear desire for the story to hold together makes something dramatic Happen. Here, it's assumed we know where we are in a story which hasn't won its place in the viewer's heart, it's not even trying to persuade you of something real. There always seems to be a new event to distract you from the last terrible costume or dodgy accent. Good actors in bad situations. I hope I'll find another blockbuster movie I like like the other two Marvel movies I mentioned - but this isn't it. As I say, it was so uninvolving I fell asleep but I still resent two hours lost dreaming of this film's sound-effects. So much money, talent and extraordinary design - squandered. Demographic and explosions-per-minute -type ticklist production values so tht we don't have time to invest emotionally in the journeys of characters who seem to veer into caricature.

At last the version and price fans deserve on 4k Digital

I remember this as the first film really to suffer from Disney regarding the sound, which was either to quite or just didnt have the dynamic that it should of had, well Disney have rectified this with this 4k digital version i have never heard it sound so complete and full, i know they have issues still with their 4k UHD discs like Black Panther etc, so i was really surprised to see this sound so good, as for the picture well it is in HDR and looks stunning now, sharper more detail and colour than ever before and the HDR as a riot with this, all this for £9.99 as well is fantastic and a thank you goes to disney for bringing their prices down at last ( better late than never ), there are no extras with this but if you can live with that then this 4k digital version will more than make any fan truly happy and half the price of the disc really is a bargain all round, end thoughts...what 4k and HDR was made for

Nothing bad about the film. My daughter absolutely adores marvel however she bought this for the collectors edition cover and it come without it. Why bother having a photo saying it comes with the cover. Stupid.

Age of Ultron Blu Ray
Verified purchase
I thought that this movie was pretty good, the story is different to the one in the comic books, but that is no surprise, since they seem to be doing that with most of these movies. Age of Ultron is better than Avengers assemble because it has a bigger scale than it's predecessor, the actors seem to be having fun with it, what I mean by that is that they seem to be more comfortable than they were in the first one, and the story in my opinion has more to it. If you are a fan of the Avengers, then I highly recommend this movie.

Great entertainment, but some of the humour didn't quite hit the spot
Verified purchase
Mostly very enjoyable, but some of the humour seemed misplaced to me and fell a little flat. There was a fairly good storyline, almost non-stop action, excellent villains (although I thought Ultron's wise-cracks and bizarre "humorous" facial expressions detracted from the evilness of his character - but this is comic-book land, after all...) and the excellent Avengers too - just the job for chilling out after a bad day at the office.

There was some great CGI on show, but I think someone should have looked more critically at the use of humour - mostly it just raised a wry smile from me when I'm sure the intention was to make us laugh; it was a bit like listening to your uncle's bad jokes and then smiling to humour the old duffer! And I'm not saying there shouldn't be any humour - far from it! It's just that I think that the humour should have been fine-tuned a bit more for maximum effect. But, that aside, it was a very enjoyable film - the new Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver characters were quite spectacular to watch, with excellent CGI effects. And the Hulkbuster scenes were some of the best of the film, and well worth waiting for.

A good and underrated movie.

The movie is great, with stunning visuals in 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos in the 7.1.4 setup. This movie laid a very important foundation for Endgame. Check the images I uploaded. This movie set comes with a slipcover as well so that's great!

Edit: the standard bluray disc in the pack is defective one, so I suggest everyone to please check if you receive all your discs in perfect condition immediately after you receive the movie.

Despite my initial mixed response to the film even after multiple viewings in the cinema. I've come to appreciate this Sequel with time. It's not a perfect film but there's enough to it that makes it worth owning and watching. The cast is great and even though Ultron is a bit underused as a villain he still is great with the little they do with the character. I love seeing Scarlet Witch and Pietro as part of the Avengers and the action scenes are what you'd expect from an ensemble in an Avengers film.

great character moments and an interesting plot

Marvel delivers again!
Another top quality film filled with action, humour, great character moments and an interesting plot...what if you could create an artificial intelligence to protect the world but it sees all of humanity's flaws as reasons for an extinction level event.
Brian Tyler and Danny Elfman accentuate an already brilliant film with fantastic score.

Now we just have to wait for Captain America Civil War.

*The DVD quality is great as always but the continued Hollywood trend of virtually vanilla DVD releases means there is on 2minute long bonus feature on the DVD. You will need to go to the Bluray for all the exciting bonus features...curse you Hollywood for shafting the DVD buyers*
