Oddly Insightful

Don't get me wrong, I feel mislead. Which is why despite it being a great movie on its own, I can't give it five stars. But... as someone suffering with PTSD, I am having a bad time right now. I feel that this view of someone else suffering (much more severely for sure!) with mental illness has been somehow cathartic? I feel that I can relate to the main character to a lesser degree and strangely it's offered me a lot of perspective. Both on mental illness and also on taking medications and the way that mental illness is often treated with such disdain.

I realised in the midst of a bad time that things are not so bad. Like I say, perspective. So... that's good right? Though I don't think that's the point of this movie. It has been insightful! Shocking at times yes, jarring, but it's a must watch for women struggling with any form of mental illness for certain.

Terrible film, with a misleading title

Do not think about viewing this film from the clip/trailer. This film is woeful and boring and is about a young woman with mental health problems. The performance are the lead actress is very good, but do not think this is anything about magic, it is a dry, mostly poor drama that is not very good at all, very disappointing.

Really good, don't expect a conventional film.

The story is about a dark journey had by someone suffering serious mental health issues, as someone who has had bad issues myself I found it well executed and as a piece of cinema something exotic and definitely worth a watch.

Good performance from Juno Temple

There's nothing magic about this film and it shouldn't be in the Horror Genre
This is about mental health and taking them to a witchdoctor just makes it worst

Good efforts from the actors - Juno Temple in particular

I didn't get it! Good efforts from the actors - Juno Temple in particular, and Michael Cera is surprisingly good - but it doesn't have a very interesting story to tell ... not much of a story at all, actually.
