“Don’t make me get crabby, it’s not a pretty sight.” [Peaches]

This 1994 action comedy [aka: Mister Cool] follows the fortunes of struggling Private Eye Andre Shame [Keenen Ivory Wayans] a former LAPD detective. When a pal from the past offers him a lifeline and says the bad guy who killed his friends isn’t actually dead, Shame goes to Mexico in order to catch him and clear his name.
The first half hour is fast and action packed, but soon slows as the main story kicks in [lose a *]. The plot remains largely obvious with no real surprises and seems like a ‘Shaft’ clone in places, but the odd scene holds the attention, stopping this from falling further.
The single disc loads to a 7 language screen [mainly scandanavian] before going to main menu offering scene selection, set up [spoken languages, subtitles] and play. There are good one liners and fight sequences but the lull between takes the edge off keeping this from being a *****.

I love Low Down Dirty Shame- not because the acting is great or the script is particularly amazing. But because it's so evocative of the 90s. Everything from the soundtrack to the hair-styles and clothes- plus Jada is hella cute. I also love the Wayans brothers and Keenan Ivory- although not a particularly commanding or charismatic actor is so lovable as the lead. The film has a few hilarious, defining moments that make it what it is- like the scenes with "Wamon". It's lent a little spice with the Latin flavour and the smooth mafia-type Latin villain, with Sally Richardson as a pocahontas-type femme fatale.Jada Pinkett wasn't bad either, playing the sassy "down-girl" with a whole lot of attitude. I haven't seen her in anything I liked before or after this ( maybe with the exception of Set it Off and Jason's lyric)...although I'm still looking.

Ultimately, it's a feel-good film with something you don't get to see a lot these days- an action, comedy-adventure with a black male lead and a happy ending for the black (although light-skinned) female without the long hair (SMIRK).

this film had me cracking up. not the best story line in the world but the humour makes up for it. its one of those films you will watch from time to time if only for certain parts. the main characters sarcasm is on point and will appeal to those who perhaps have a sarcastic streak in them. i especially like the part where 'shame' goes to see the bad guys to tell them to deliver a message. watch what he says to the bald guy!!
im not gonna spoil it but this is a good film from the wayans camp
give it a try
