cute film

Honestly, from some of the reviews I was expecting the worst film ever made! I have seen (and enjoyed) some, truly BAD romantic movies and this DEFINITELY isn't in that category. More along the lines of a British Hallmark movie. The two leads are married in real life and have brilliant chemistry. I did take one star (and another half if I could) for the appalling first scene with Gordon Ramsey. I mean, they weren't even in the same BUILDING when it was shot, let alone the same room! Other than that, I really didn't see what was so woeful about it. If you like a cute, simple romcom, go for it.

Couldn't make it past the first 10 minutes

Horrifically scripted and acted - worse than an amateur audition, and celebrity actors aren't enough to make a difference, if anything they just overemphasise how bad the acting and scripting is.

That was an hour or so I won't get back!

I had high hopes for this, having watched the trailer and considered the castings; boy was I disappointed! The acting felt more like they filmed the rehearsals and some of the scenes seemed completely random. I don't think any will be putting this one in their showreel. Thankfully it was included in my Prime subscription because I would not have paid to watch it separately.

Unionist propaganda movie
Verified purchase
This is an English movie. This is a movie trying to make the world think that there is an English cuisine.
It is also a propaganda movie to reinforce the obsolete concept of being "British"...
Using a guy with a Scottish accent to talk about being British...?? It's terrible.

This movie is insincere as it was crafted to reinforce ideologies - not to be a "real" movie - that is why eveyone dislikes it.

What a trifle.

I like food themes but this was not a B movie, but a C-movie.

Lovely romantic comedy

Sweet English comedy, nice to drift off away from reality. A little like PS I Love You. Very enjoyable

We bought this film having enjoyed other Claire Forlani romantic comedies
Verified purchase
We bought this film having enjoyed other Claire Forlani romantic comedies. Despite some reviewers' criticisms of it being "slow", we found it enjoyable. The leads, Forlani and Scott, do not disappoint, and Simon Callow is highly entertaining. Perhaps the baddie is rather too much of a pantomime villain to be credible. But an entertaining and enjoyable film, nonetheless.
