Not a good movie...

I was expecting more, given the reviews. Nothing stellar, but better than I got.

Unfortunately this is a film full of poor acting, over the top music, and cliched, cringeworthy scenes. It was also slow and rather boring for the most part, before suddenly ramping up and ending abruptly in the space of ten minutes. The story itself was unoriginal and not particularly interesting. It's been done before, and it's been done much better.

Having watched this on Prime I also have to wonder (once again) where Amazon gets it's movie descriptions. The one for this movie is absolute nonsense... the main character is not a "young man" since he is returning from 25 years military duty... his family does not own a "trucking business", not least because trucks had yet to be invented in the era in which the film takes place, and the business has not be "taken over" by anyone... his father does not die in an "accident", he's shot twice quite deliberately... and there is no "campaign" of vengeance. It seems the description is for an entirely different film!

Good story

Good actors especially Stacey Keach a good story and the film sets are amazing .
The only thing that spoiled for me was the constant music every second which I found irritating .
The film was made for a younger audience who don`t mind constant music .

Bad made-for-TV Western
Verified purchase
A clichéd, formulaic, made-for-TV Western with low production values, poor writing, poor direction and poor acting. What in the old days would be called a B-movie but isn't a patch on anything Randolph Scott made.

The most perfect take on a vital genre of movies, the Western.

The most perfect take on a vital genre of movies, the Western. The music absolutely true to this historical reference. So it's a movie that refers to movies, done with superb and knowing style.

Turgid Nonsence

With out doubt one of the worst western films I have ever, ever, ever seen on Prime, or anywhere else, nearly every cliche in the book, very wooden acting and dialogue and the stupid poses, especially at the graveside. Lou Diamond and the cast must have had mortgage payments to make. I actually can't believe I watched it all the way through knowing I was watching a real tukey. It is so bad I felt I had to write a review to warn people off. This is a zero star but have to give one.
