Better than I expected

Considering the time when it was done, I was expecting this to be a typical Hollywood biopic telling us how one of its starts was such a wonderful girl. In fact they show a very nasty side of her, as well as the good side.
Her first husband treated her badly then she treated a number of her subsequent husbands like dirt. Worst of all, she did the same to her best female friend.
Sherilyn Fenn plays the part really well and she does have a Liz air about her.

In Spanish Only

Please be aware that this DVD with ASIN: B01GRNSIQQ is the version for the Spanish speaking market. This box set is in Spanish only, with the only subtitles being in Spanish. Although this mini-series was originally made with an English soundtrack, this DVD does not have the option for playing in English. I was really looking forward to seeing this, I had caught some of this brilliant documentary on True Movies. I will continue my quest to find an English language version.

The Turbulent Burtons.

Sherilyn Fenn, Was Surprisingly good as Elizabeth there were times the accent was spot on, as for the rest of the cast "Woeful" Angus Mc Fayden as Burton was grating on the nerves.

We think we know alot about the Dame but we really don't, sherilyn was great as Liz, (well anything would be better than Lindsay Lohan what were they thinking of) I'm not surprised it bombed, good. This is a much better look at the Liz.

Excellent Televised Biography!

Loved this miniseries! The actors that they put into the parts of the real-life people were excellent! I remembered seeing this on TV years ago, and to my dismay, it is not available in the U.S., so luckily I was able to find it at Amazon.U.K.

More buyer information, please!
It would be very helpful to know more about this release. Why are there single-disc and double-disc versions (all from Europe) both available? What are the running lengths of these, is the single-disc version edited? Is the original English-language track used or has this been dubbed? What is the video/audio quality like? These are all questions a buyer needs to know, especially since this movie is not available in the USA and North American buyers must have a region-free player and look overseas for a DVD.

The movie itself -- I still have my TV broadcast tapings -- was a cut above the norm, thanks to a deft performance by lovely Sherilyn Fenn and Taylor's own fascinating life story. The pacing zips right along, as it must, due to the ground that must be covered. Seeing so many recreations of famous movie scenes and sets is absorbing, and the entrance of Richard Burton (an enjoyable reenactment by Angus McFadyen) brings things to a climax; the rest is mere soap opera and excess, but is not without its guilty pleasures. On the whole a movie that deserves wider distribution and attention.
