I'd like to think they wouldn't get away with a movie like this now. Man dampens woman's aspirations for success with his aspirations to find a stay at home mom for his kid. Made 18 years ago. Has Hollywood moved on? Probably not much.

So Like Life... you know?

The Propher, Tony Shalhoub, was brilliant as he has been in everything I've seen him in since he was Monk in the TV show of the same name. This time he was a prophet with a .95+ hit rate and that's scary except that, fortunately, he only seas stuff like sports and the weather... oh yes and that thing about Angelina Jolie's character that's the whole point of the movie. Ms Jolie was pretty good as well.

It's a feelgood film with a moral, and that moral is 'live every day as if it were your last because one day it will be.

Peace!

Soft rom-com with blonde Jolie
Verified purchase
The movie starts awkwardly and slows down from there. Every characters are not presented in a way that you care anything about them. Some of the relationships you can't understand where they came from at all. The whole movie seems kind of thrown together and unorganized.
Jolie as a blonde is pretty interesting and she does a wonderful job with her soft character.
Give it a watch if you are a fan of Jolie but don't expect anything special.

Predictable Fairly Unfunny Romantic Comedy
Verified purchase
On the plus side - you get to see Jolie blonde and you get to hear her sing a line from a Rolling Stones song (interesting given the rumours about her and Jagger years ago).
On the other hand - it tries to elevate itself / or seem deeper itself?) with a couple of homespun homilies, but on the whole it has nothing much to say. Only recommend it to those who really have nothing better to do, or are very easy to please.

As the Americans say " smaltzy" and somewhat predictable but good I think, for these evenings full of Winter storms, flooding, and a troubled world ................... keep smiling ..Springs is on it's way

angelina jolie

I watched this movie before and I just could not remember what it was about, except that Jolie was a tv reporter. But dont you just love watching Angelina Jolie on tv. She is pretty, but even more than that, she is an excellent actress.
It is a good movie too. I like the main actor too, I can never remember his name.

Entertaining

Pretty entertaining film. Solid acting from Jolie and Burns, although the brilliant Tony Shalhoub turns in a cameo as Prophet Jack and steals the film from both of them. I'd never seen Shalhoub before, but I'll watch out for him in future.
