These 501s are not as stated i.e. they are not the original Levi 501s. They are made of a stretch material - not the usual cotton / denim. The first time you become aware of the is when you open the package and see the cardboard label (see photo). This is about the third time I have been sent 501s in a stretch material. I kept one pair and they got worse after each wash. I now have got a pair from another supplier that is of the usual non-stretch variety. Some people may actually want stretch material but the description needs to be accurate so we can see what we’re ordering.

If you are a long standing aficionado of Levi’s 501s and have a few well worn pairs already in your wardrobe, you may feel dubious about what you are buying here. The feel, look, texture and look of these jeans is not much like my other Levi’s but on the plus side, they are well made and I don’t have to crowbar my middle aged frame into them as they are an excellent, comfortable fit that I can wear all day.

There are numerous comments from other buyers on here, questioning the authenticity of these jeans and it would be helpful for Amazon or the supplier to provide some sort of statement guaranteeing that they are from Levi’s. I’ve had a close look and the detailing looks ok but the material feels much lighter than the 501s I’ve previously owned.

As I’m more into comfort and fit over style these days, I’m happy with my purchase and Amazon’s try before you pay service gives you peace of mind if you’re not happy with the Levi’s you receive.

Ordered straight fit with a zipper What I got was boot cut with button fastening and the product was a lot darker than the one illustrated.Still I was going to keep them 'til I took a closer look. They have heavy creases at the knee and the bottom of the legs as though they had been worn previously. They just didn't look or feel correct....the bottom of the legs were worn and frayed as were the openings to the pockets.in. my opinion they are second hand and fakes. On checking the labels I found they were made in Vietnam whereas all my other Levi products were made in Bangladesh. And so I contacted Levis directly and was informed that none of their 501 products are made in Vietnam.Had intended sending them back but my neighbour needed some new jeans so I gave them to him....you learn from your mistakes and I certainly will not be making that one again

I stopped buying 501's over 10 years ago when the price went through the roof. I loved the fit and finish but didn't want to pay the price Levi was charging.
However the recent sale meant that I can get a pair of my favourite fit jeans at the price I am prepared to pay.
The style hasn't changed and the fit is still comfortable.

Bought a pair of these and they were 100% genuine (I compared them to two pairs of 501’s I bought recently in John Lewis and they are identical. But most people seem to think they are fake because they’re thin, poorly finished, the label shrinks after a few months and they wear out really quickly. However, they’re not, genuine Levi jeans are indeed made this badly these days. I was very disappointed, but I’m a sucker for Levi’s.

I have worn 501 jeans for years. These are not normal 501 jeans. The material is thin, lightweight and almost stretchy - not like the usual denim jeans. One of the labels on the jeans says 'stretch extensible' which makes me wonder if these are a different version of the normal 501 jeans. However, there is absolutely nothing in the product description that suggests these are 'stretch extensible' so assumed these are normal jeans. The fit of them is also not like a usual 501 jean. Whether or not these are fake I don't know, the quality seems reasonable. Unfortunately I took all the labels off so now cannot return them. Probably better to go to a trusted shop to ensure you get what you are paying for

These were terrible and I sent them back. The description says button and zip fastening. There was no zip, the fly was all button. The description said Regular and straight fit. It wasn't, it was more of a skinny fit but not quite a total skinny. I hate skinny fit jeans. The only thing that were right about them was the colour, waist size and length, 36 inches. I won't be buying jeans from Amazon anymore. The Next jeans fitted perfectly so I'll get my jeans from them in future.

I liked everything about these jeans. The leg length and waist size are just right for me and the material is soft and comfortable. The shape of the jeans suits my own shape. I have had other cheaper jeans that just do not sit right, sticking out in odd places and feeling wrong. I loose patience with them and just chuck them out in those clothes collection bags, but these Levis will not be going that way and I am aiming to buy another pair before too long.
