Amazing home cinema sound
Verified purchase
Bought this for buttons on Amazon shortly after seeing it on telly. It sounded amazing thru a home cinema system and my go to Blu-ray website highlights that it had reference quality audio. That was my sole reason for buying it, the movie itself is nothing special - enjoyable nonsense if you like action movies - but if you want something to tweak a home cinema set up, worth the few quid it cost. Opening scene of a car speeding by shoots across the speakers, and there are several further shoot outs and explosions to revel in.
Video quality is good, movie predictable and cliched, but enjoyable nonetheless. But it’s the DTS 7.1 sound which is absolutely stunning.

Good Arnie film
Verified purchase
Hugely entertaining movie. Although not Schwarzenegger's best. He is older and a bit slower but he can still kick the baddies to touch. He plays a retired lawman looking to spend the rest of his days being sheriff of a peaceful backwater town until the baddies show up. In this case a merciless drugs lord. Then all hell breaks loose. There are comic characters that enrich the story especially Johnny Knoxville as Dinkum the gun enthusiast. Schwarzenegger plays his part well without taking himself seriously Good film -Great price.

Utter nonsense: great fun

Leave your brain in another room and just let this run. What nonsense but we-packaged nonsense with the action set pieces really working to bring this movie to life. Arnie does not take himself too seriously and there is plenty going on to engage the attention. I really enjoyed it, but sort of feel guilty for doing so!

Good grief

You know when you watch a movie, and there are some really badly written lines to spell the plot out. You can let a few go because, you know. Hollywood. 90% of the lines in this movie do that. And there isn't even a plot. Bad guy escapes jail. Good guy against all odds recaptures him. There, I saved you 107 minutes of your life. Oh, and remember Arnie in those movies where he couldn't act, but he was huge and covered in bullet belts, so the bad acting wasn't an issue. In this movie he isn't huge and covered in bullet belts.

Not what you think at first glance

I liked this movie. Initially, I thought it would be yet another "Arnie" movie where he would roll out his usual schtick but I guess the director kept him under control. Yes, there was the usual action-hero stuff, but this was an action movie and there was as much contribution from the supporting actors too. There was also a good dose of humor injected, right to the end. Definitely worth watching if you are looking for a movie where a sleepy town wakes up and responds unexpecedly to an overwhelming city threat.

Arnie Film, Action and Humour, What's not to like?
Verified purchase
This is a good movie that has lots of action, violence and some really good humour (not just Arnie's) The supporting actors are excellent with some great lines. The actress from the lead role in Blindspot has a great supporting role. Arnie? it's definitely an Arnie movie and he provides exactly what you have come to expect from him. My wife in particular loved it!

It`s Arnie. Forget reality allow yourself to fall into the fictional world and this is quite a good film. Well made with an acceptable story with quite a few emotions thrown in for free. At worst on a few occasions you say "Nah", but they pass quickly and you like them anyway. At best it`s the goodie v`s the baddie and you know who`s going to win, remember I told you "It`s Arnie". Enjoy

Not a game changing action film but enjoyable all the same

overall a great action movie that action fans as well as schwarzenegger fans will like. Those of you expecting to see academy award winning performances or great story telling should probably avoid this. This is a straight up action movie filled with unapologetic violence, the way it should be. The movie starts off a little slow but once the action picks up it never lets go. Arnold may be looking his age a little bit but that doesn't slow him down at all. Johnny knoxville is also good as the comedy sidekick and he has his moments to shine, him and arnold are definitely an odd couple.
