Great pair of water shoes from KEEN with just one niggle

I almost didn't buy these as I'd seen so many reviews about the Whisper being really narrow. I
have regular width feet and chose my usual size 6. I don't find them too narrow at all, they just feel like they fit. There's plenty of space in the toe area and it feels like they grip the rear of my feet well. They are easy to slip on and the bungee makes it easy to adjust the fit quickly. I'm marking them down by one star simply because the arch support isn't amazing and as someone who over-pronates a decent footbed means I can walk further without pain, but as these are water shoes, I'm only going to be walking short distances wearing them to get into the water anyway and the footbed feels supportive enough, just without the level of arch support I like. They are really comfy though, hold my foot in place well and whilst I've not yet used them out on the water, they feel capable and are a great replacement to my very old KEEN Uneek water shoes.

Poor fit with little flexibility to adjust.

After researching quite heavily into a new pair of walking sandals I decided to try these based on the number of positive reviews. Sadly, they were tight at the top of the laces with very little ability to widen the gap.
I fully loosened the laces but they didn't really alter the fit much, especially at the back of the sandal. Although just trying them on, they felt OK, I felt that once I'd worn them for any period of time, they would become uncomfortable and would no doubt pinch.
Very disappointing really. I've had similar style sandals that were able to adjust the fit in a number of ways to make them comfortable, these did not.
I've gone back to my Hi-tec sandals, much comfier, more flexible fit, hard wearing and £50 cheaper!

The wide toebox is great and I love the rubber bumper and fastening. They have good air circulation. But Keen has taken advantage of their success with these factors and produced shoes that are weak in other areas. The split cowhide parts are thin and brittle, and I suspect they will not last all that long. What bothered me the most are the hard soles and how low these are to the ground. The footbed is not sculpted enough to make that work. This is a Keen fail.

I have a pair of hard cork shoes that do work because of their anatomically-shaped soles. While they aren't walking shoes, they are quite supportive because of the molded sole.

I am still looking for sandals that protect my toes, have a wide toebox, and offer support throughout, and are great for walking. My favorite sandal every was the teva wraptors of the early 2000s that were emergency yellow. They had EVERYTHING and lasted about 8 years!!!!

SOOO Close to Perfect!

I spent 2 weeks looking for the perfect walking sandals for an upcoming backpacking trip to SE Asia. After many Keen recommendations and lots of research, I bought these - though I had some reservations after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, my concerns became reality, BUT, I still love these sandals.

Pros:
-THE most comfortable sandals I've ever worn out of the box. This is especially important since I have flat, wide feet and often get blisters with new shoes. So far, no uncomfortable rubbing or blisters.
-Love the closed-toes and the fact that they can be worn in the water.
-Of all the Keen walking sandals, these IMO look the best
-There seems to be plenty of support, especially considering it's a sandal

Cons:
-As other reviewers have stated, there is an issue with the fit. At first, I thought the sandal was too big. I ordered a 10, my normal size shoe. I considered returning them for a 9.5 because there was a large gap between my toes and the top of the shoe and my heel was so close to the edge. However, width and room-wise my foot fit the sandal. The problem lies with the ankle of the sandal. It's not adjustable and seems to just be too big. If it were adjustable, this shoe would be perfect.

Since I'll be walking a lot with a 25lb backpack in tropical weather (and occasionally in cooler weather where I'll wear socks with these) I've decided to keep the 10s. After I put them on I make a conscious effort to push my foot all the way forward and THEN tighten it. They mostly stay put, but when they move, I just push my feet forward again... really not THAT big of a deal. Had I paid Keen's full price for these I might have returned them, but since I paid half the price, I'm more than satisfied.

Hello,
I ordered these because I thought they would be good to alternate them with my hiking shoes. They are awful. The soul is as hard as a rock and not only did it hurt my feet, walking in them hurt my lower back too. I normally wear a size 10 and have for years, but these shoes were too narrow and my heel hung off the edge a bit too. They do not fit like other shoes in the same size. I would not recommend these at all.

I wear these sandals every day. This is my second pair. The first pair are still in great shape, just wanted a different color. They have a great toe box and foot bed, just like the keen hiking boots. When you feel comfortable, you look better. I’ve had lots of compliments on them. And when they get dirty, just hose them off.

I ordered a few pairs of Keen sandles to try, as I'd never wanted to invest that much money in a pair of sandles before. But after being a long time RN with foot, leg and back pain, I decided to be kind to my feet and try them. I have to say Keens are the most comfortable pair of sandles I've ever put on my feet! However-this style made my feet look bigger than the other pair I ordered (I'm a size 10 so it doesn't take much), so I'm opting for the others and returning these. Very nice comfy sandles though!

Still breaking them in - haven't worn them on a long hike or in watery conditions yet. Craftsmanship seems good. The packaging was study and they had little paperboard shoe forms in them, to keep them from losing their shape. The fit right out of the box was good - I did not order up or down as some reviewers suggested. I'd say they fit somewhere in between sizing for women's work or casual shoes (where I sometimes need a smaller size and womens's athletic shoes (where I usually wear a larger size). The European women's size was pretty accurate. This is my first KEEN purchase - my daughter has been recommending KEEN for some time to me. They smelled extremely new - a kind of chemical smell right out of the box. I wanted to set them near a window to let them outgas! They are much better now, after a week or so out in the air.

I really like these sandals. Tried on a few different Keen sandals in the store, decided which style I liked vest, then found them on Amazon (Whisper). The fit is true to size (I’m a perfect 10!) and there is some arch support. I live in FL and wear them a lot - and for biking too (cooler than sneakers with socks).
