I got a size 6 and they are very slightly loose, but I wear ordinary thin socks rather than hiking socks.
So far the waterproofing has stood up to very heavy rain and small puddles, but I have not worn them in thick grass as some other reviewers have.
The footbed is a little stiffer than I would be used to, but they are perfectly fine in terms of comfort and I wore them for an hour-long walk as soon as I got them with no problems.
I've only had them for a week, but so far I would have no hesitation in recommending them or buying them again. Great value.
The shoes lose one star as I've owned them for less than a month and I noticed one shoe has developed a tiny split in the fabric, just behind one side of the tongue. This makes me think that whilst they are very comfortable and supportive, I'm not convinced that they will last as long as I'd expect for the price I paid.
Overall, I'd recommend these as the price was quite reasonable and for the level of comfort and support, I don't mind replacing them a bit more often.
The only thing I would change is the colour. Black and grey is very boring especially for women and I was disappointed that these
we’re the only colours available. My previous pair purchased three and a half years ago was a lovely shade of blue with contrasting
laces. I’ve only replaced them as they are no longer waterproof and are wearing thin.
I wear them to walk my dog in long grass and in the rain and have found them to be waterproof. The soles have a good grip on frosty footpaths and on muddy ground.
