Great film, unfortunately Prime streaming version no subs
Verified purchase
Love this film and bought it through Prime Video, unfortunately, the non english speaking elements, which are supposed to have subtitles embeded are not in the film and turning on standard subtitles does not bring up the missing subs either. Had to contact Prime for a refund, which to their credit, they provided without any issues. Shame, as this is a top movie.

No subtitles for many scenes in Arabic
Verified purchase
This is an American movie where 20% of the dialogues are in Arabic. Amazon did not bother to include any subtitle option. So unless you can understand Arabic you will understand what’s happening in many of the scenes and especially the interactions between the Americans and the saoudiens which is the whole point of this movie. Very disappointing from Amazon :(

If you don't speak Arabic I'd give it a miss
Verified purchase
Watched about 30 minutes of this - Jaime Fox mumbles his way through his lines, the interrogation scenes may as well be in Klingon for all the sense it made,( if you enable sub titles it's OK for the English bits , but as soon as the Arabic comes on ( and there's a lot) it merely says 'someone speaking Arabic !'and the action seems disjointed and unconnected - one minute no ones allowed to go to Kuwait, then the next they're on a plane heading there against everyone's specific instructions - no explanation as to how they achieved it or why. 'Merica.

Kept me glued throughout, excellent movie well worth the watch.

Well worth a watch for a great script, above average acting, tension-building, impactful story-booking, it’s a big movie. Please don’t dismiss just because Amazon haven’t supplied a copy that gives English subtitles for the foreign language scenes as you still get the gist from strong acting, in fact, it may well have been intentional by the movie maker. Excellent, kept me glued all the way.

No subtitles for areas of Arabic dialogue
Verified purchase
Turned it off after about 20 mins as the sections with Arabic dialogue were not subtitled. I seem to remember watching this on DVD years ago and they were. Seeemed like we were missing important areas of the plot. Would have wanted a refund but read that we can't have one as we attempted to watch it, also poor.

Regrettable, as I remember it being a good film.

American product

I watched this 3 times. It is a typical product of the American hero! BUT, goodness it is very well made, professionally it has been produced and acted like few others I had seen before! Even the sound track is good! It is a masterpiece

A classic indeed

Having worked in Saudi Arabia, much of the attitudes etc.,displayed in the movie were very authentic...although my time was Military based...never encountered any hostility whatsoever with the locals, yet the movie is GREAT! Although I'd seen it before, always good to add to my collection.

Frustrating waste of money & a disservice to the film.
Verified purchase
This might be a good film, but with 20% or more of the film foreign language & no subtitles available it is hard to tell. The film was released with appropriate subtitles but not available with Amazon option. So complete waste of rental money as I had to abandon the movie after 20 mins in complete frustration. Not the first time this has happened. Remember Assassins Creed!!! Obviously no lessons learned.
