The rumble in the jungle is just great

Was a little unsure because it was a remake of a wonderful film with Robin Williams. Remakes don't always work well. However this was really good. It didn't try to replace the original, it took the idea and turned it into something brilliant. Bang up to date both with the concept and the characters. I love Dwayne Johnson, I think he is a very watchable actor but the star for me was Jack Black. His portrayal of a young, spoiled brat teenager was spot on and hilarious. If you watch it you will understand what I mean. Excellent film.

Don't pass this game/movie over

Loved this movie in the cinema. I seldom buy movies that I have seen on the big screen, but we laughed so much as a family when we saw it for the first time - I had to own a copy. We laughed again watching it on the small screen. Great casting. Good clean fun, loaded with humour. Sequels or remakes are often not as good as the original movie, but this film had many references to the original and was so much better. I really recommend this if you have playground humour and need cheering up. - Hilarious!

Funny! Great actors

Hilarious! Funny! Great actors. Characters have to face life facts such as the finality of death and the scale 1 - 100 of how problems can loom to one another. Got a zit? Could be the death of social life, then again, one will not have much life altogether if one is mauled by real live crocodiles. It is all about perspective I suppose.Well made and presented, and fun to look at.

Clean: rip-roaring fun

Don't expect a quality high brow adventure here, (Jurassic Park it ain't).

What it is: is peckers running around in fantasy land in male and female mixed up bodies, some great gags, and some missed opportunities as well.

The graphics are top class, (a little to top class), especially in the basement starting off the game.
- And the Game itself was right out of the Eighties, nice touch.
The conclusion: (time wise), was in doubt; and the writers could have done a better job in my opinion.

All in all at the end: I was as satisfied as I could be with this juvenile nonsense.

Worth a watch on a wet rainy Sunday afternoon: (kids not necessarily mandatory, as the film does hold itself up quite well).

I was a little reluctant to watch this , thinking it couldn't match the original ( am showing my age lol), but we settled down to watch it as a family one night, since I had promised to take the grandchildren to see the sequel, "Jumanji 2 the next level", so that I would know what had happened so far. Well I was proved really was so enjoyable. It was funny physical comedy, and not in a stupidly slapstick way, but genuinely hilarious. I was so impressed with the acting, the Rock is full of surprises. Without giving anything away, he plays a different character from his usual roles and his acting is really good. He is great at laughing at himself and his hard man image. Jack Black is his usual talented self, and I usually don't enjoy watching Kevin Hart as he irritates me, but I don't mind him in this one. Karen Gillan is a joy to watch. The action and the laughs come thick and fast but there are hidden moral messages in there too, and it teaches the kids about acceptance and tolerance of those who may be a little different. After watching it I couldn't wait to see the sequel. I recommend seeing this first, as it means the sequel makes more sense.

Funny, if you don't mind the young characters being represented by silly adults. Some jokes are rather gross. Lots of identity politics going on (Jew, Black, Blond Social Media addict and a Borderline Truther). Really, all the archetypes are there, but there's also some embarrassing moments in which sexuality is addressed (like, when the girl-now-turned-man has to say goodbye to her NPC's penis). Not sure what to do about the intimate relationship between the older NPC and the young NPC (who turns out to be older, in real life). The last scenes are a total disgrace. Some rather good action, but nothing compared to the scares of the original film. Actors are wooded, soundtrack annoying and, please, who gave the idea of motorcycles in a jungle (the noise is so irritating). Try horses next time.

great film for a couple of hours of laughter. like how the characters all stood out both the IRL persons and the VG characters they portrayed but with a little bit of their IRL mannerisms peeking through into the game. made it feel like a video game with levels and having to figure out each stage before moving onto the next and how when the drums come on they all know something bad is about to happen. even though its a remake of the robin williams one it has been done in such a way that it doesn't shadow the old but rather brings it into the modern world and technology.

One of the better films of 2017

Forget the argument that this isn't a proper sequel to the original, who cares. It's just a really good feel good film with loads of genuine funny moments. All the main cast are excellent. CGI is very well done. And it all rocks along at a good pace. One of the surprise films of 2017, especially as most had written it off before release.
