Eeeh, it were like going to pictures about West Yorkshire police constabulary 'tween 1970 and 1981. John Wick remind me of time ont 17 bus on way t'Halifax, Bradford, Leeds terminating Huddersfield Bus Depot. I were looking for t' Yorkshire Ripper coz he'd been murdering a load of ladies of ill repute. So just like young Wick I had me Whippet with me and he were called Nigel, after me mam. Young lad gorron bus and didn't have correct change and started with all sorts of language t'lad y bus driver. So I said "I been bobby 22 year and I am arresting you for foul and abusive language." When I regained consciousness I noticed that front of me new C&A jumper were damp. I thought it were blood from unprovoked attack by unidentified bus passenger. Using 22 years of police skills I deduced Nigel had pissed on me. So that's story of how t' Constable Boyes missed opportunity to feel collar of Britain's most notorious serial killer. As young Sutcliffe were alighting bus in Leeds he said "See you later Yogi" and I said "Cheerio Peter. I asked him if he were planning on some crimes Old Days Night and he just shrugged and walked off. I couldn't pursue him like Police Camera Action on telly as I said I'd have me tea at number 22 Frimley, Grandma Gills."

I'm sorry I know I shouldn't....but I loved it

I would love to say to Amazon it was terrible and I would like my money back, but I just can't. I kept seeing ads about John Wick 3 and thought, "what is this all about?" So I rented it from Amazon Prime and I'm afraid to say I loved it. I try to be a culture vulture but I do have the occasional lapse and watch Jason Statham rubbish etc and thoroughlly enjoy them. If that is what you like you'll love it. Slightly classier than those films John Wick follows a retired assassin who cannot seem to beable to put on his slippers and smoke his pipe. What follows is action and violence.....which is none stop.....BUT it does have a storyline which is emersive and easy to follow. Yes bullets fly past him at an alarming rate and his pistol seems to have countless amounts of ammo without the need to reload, plus he can still fight with 300 gunshot wounds and one or two knife wounds but the words of Love Island "it is what it is!'

Splendid, brainless, yet stylish and enjoyable shooty thing.

What does one do with a wooden actor? Stick him in a wooden role of course!
I love a good revenge flick, and fights, and bangs and all things pyrotechnic - I really haven't grown up at all. So Wick is right up my street. Perhaps the trigger for JW's revenge is a bit weak, or perhaps it's just a sign of how keen he secretly is to whip out his big gun and hurt people. Whichever is the case once he begins rampaging it's very gratifying. The camera-work can be a bit rapid, but not so much that you lose track of the action - and enough fights are clear and well choreographed that I was fully satisfied.
There isn't too much more needs saying. The action is full-on, kinetic and stylishly done. JW is hard-core but still vulnerable to a good kicking himself, making him just a bit more human rather than a killing machine, and Keanu suits the role well - what with having so little dialogue and a hand to hold his gun with.
If you watch this expecting to be left with deep questions about the nature of life - you're an idiot and please stop writing bad reviews for films you should know better than to watch. If you want to see cinematic boom-bang and feel a vicarious and vengeful thrill - hop on, it's fun :)

Mindless video game like violence - dire
Verified purchase
How’s this pile of mindless rubbish been given great reviews?

Mindless pointless violence and slaughter
Half a story - poor acting - dire.

I gave up 3/4 way through as scores and scores of killings just doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid.

Lots of action, pretty light on plot

Big names, huge set piece action sequences, so what’s not to like. Well quite a bit actually. This film doesn’t really seem to try on the plot aspect. You could explain it in a couple of sentences. Bad guys pick on wrong guy, he then hunts them down.

Oh, and a dog gets killed.

Very enjoyable but soooo empty.

Reformed hitman rejects karma
Verified purchase
Fast moving but totally predictable (and unbelievable) - an apparent killing machine left the crime organisation he helped create (by removing the competition as ordered by the head honcho) because he fell in love - lucky she wasn’t on the hit list! The only surprise in this movie was the innocuous manner of her death. Clever to also include beloved pets (totally innocent) into the situation - their welfare was my only concern in this ongoing killing melee. A hitman is paid to kill - it’s not a noble profession - movies can still be entertaining and escapist but there is a responsibility to be credible to avoid wannabe contract killers.

Garbage.....just pure garbage

What can I say, this is the worst film I have tried to watch in a long tme. Gave up after 45 mins as the acting and story are dreadful, so unless it drastically improves in the last hour ( I doubt it unless watching shoot-em-ups is a huge kick for you) it doesnt even merit one star. Really disappointed as I had been told it was good and thought there was a trilogy to watch, but I wont be wasting another minute on this garbage

Violence not too graphic or gory in my opinion
Verified purchase
Oh wow, we really enjoyed this film! It was a random choice rental on Amazon Video one night and we were blown away. Yes there is a lot of violence and scores of 'head shots', but in my opinion the violence is not too graphic or gory (which I would be sensitive to). We found the movie very exciting and enjoyable. There is one scene near the start that I did find upsetting, but it forms the story line. We look forward to the sequel.
