Top critical review
3.0 out of 5 starsGreat value and roomy, but sizing issues and hand wash only!

These are a really useful comfortable pair of work pants, with lots of room for bending, moving and lifting, which is ideal. Size wise, I was a bit flummoxed which size to order, as there isn’t a guide that I could find. I ordered the XL as would rather have them too large than too small. I’m a 14/16 and have found the XL very much on the large size, so looks like I should have ordered the L. Ah well. However, I’m going to wash and tumble dry them and I’m hoping then they’ll be the correct size!
Talking about washing, the major drawback of these trousers, especially for work purposes, is that you’re supposed to hand wash them, what nonsense is that! Who wants ta to do that at the best of times. I haven’t washed them yet, but will do and update this review after. Given the fabric content I can’t see why machine washing should be oriole, attic and even tumble drying. I shall be doing both, and if the tumble dryer shrinks them slightly, then all the better for me.
In terms of design, I would have referred a fully elastic waistband, rather than partial with auntie, as I found it a bit of a challenge to keep them tied and in place. That may be because the trousers themselves are too big. But another thing to note is that they are very long in the leg. Now I like long trousers, but these are extra long on me. I’m five foot five, so if you’re shorter you may well find them unwearable. The pockets however are useful and deep, and the purple colour is nice and vibrant.
So overall it’s three stars from me, due primarily to the sizing and leg length issue, and the recommendation to hand wash. But if these issues aren’t issues for you, then they are great value work trousers at £16.99.
