An independent film, made by scraping funds together over many years and with crowdfunder support, it tries so hard to be spectacular and in some ways it achieves that.
The cgi work must have taken a long time to pull together and is effective but no way has there been sufficient spent on it to make it look as good as possible. But this is indie film and what is delivered is still more adventurous and far reaching than anything else I’ve seen. It’s not great in parts, but plenty of credit to Simon for trying.
In parts the acting is very stilted. A problem of filming over time or with disjointed scenes. The crowd scenes were good with plenty of action in place. A huge story canvas with an interesting twist in the tale.
This was a film that I could have given up on but I didn’t. I didn’t because that would be disrespectful to the filmmaker who has tried, and to an extent succeeded, to give a Hollywood standard sci-fi film with a background of “no money” filmmaking.
Watch it with an open mind. It’s not the best film you’ll ever see, certainly no “Star Wars”, but it certainly above average and filled with dedication and purpose.

To call this a B-movie is a discredit to B-movies . This was beyond dire.
Sound, Picture, all had the makings of someone home movie project.
It was typical of a genra of british exploitation movies, which relies on
a flashy poster to sucker in its punters. I might as well have given my
99p to charity.
Drivel Avoid.

I've followed this project from the early crowdfunding days when it was called 'Kaleidoscope Man' and am thrilled to see it completed. Whilst it may not (quite) have the slickness of your ten-a-penny Hollywood 'blockbuster' with a predictable ending we've become so used to seeing, 'Invasion Planet Earth' is an original and ambitious concept brilliantly realised by a dedicated Independent film-maker (Simon Cox). If I have to compare it but without giving too much away, I'd say it's better than the remake of 'The Day The Earth Stood Still', for all that movie's big budget & A-List cast. Very, very impressed by the end result, and happy to purchase and recommend it to anyone who loves science-fiction. And as an aside to aspiring Indie filmmakers - never give up your dreams!! Simon didn't and this is the result. Brilliant!

I'm afraid I can only give four stars, as I found some of it a little stilted and disjointed in places. However, the SFX were really good for a low budget film. I really liked the premice of the story though, as I watched I had a few different theories going round my head, so was actually pleased at the outcome. I don't want to say too much as I don't believe in giving spoilers (sweetie ;) ), so I'll just say that it is worth watching. It's not the kind of thing I'd usually watch, and it takes A LOT to hold my attention, but I did watch until the end.
I did keep getting distracted though, as I live near some of the places it was filmed in, so I kept trying to figure out exactly where the scenes were set. It's mainly filmed in Birmingham, but there are other Midlands places in it too.
Overall, it's a good film, considering the low budget.

Compliments to Director Simon Cox, for his vision and managing to achieve it all be under strained budgets.
Its not the most inspirational imaginary interpretation of sc-fi invasion earth but its his vision and as such try and appreciate it from a low budget Indie film perspective. Its a gem in its own ranking and no doubt shall acquire a ranking worthy of his followers in time.
What appears as an invasion needs evaluation and consideration at the plot develops. CGI isn't the best and perhaps yer follow up should it happen aught to be a development.
The characters are regular folk, a dashing Dr and his equally attractive wife and his distant brother, a relationship rekindelded at the end of the day .
A few twistsz and turns along the way but an enjoyable experience.

Was very happy to hear that this film was finally coming out but unfortunately it was really disappointing.
Acting not up to scratch. Toyah in her brief scenes seemed the only one comfortable.
Too much CGI also not up to scratch and actually not needed.
Interesting story premise although has been done in various ways in other films.
As I said really wanted this to work but it doesn’t and 2 stars is perhaps generous.

THIS IS AN UNUSUAL FILM FOR ITS GENRE. I OBVIOUSLY DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE STORY-LINE FOR ANYONE THINKING OF WATCHING THIS FILM SO DON'T GO THINKING " OH NO! NOT ANOTHER ALIEN ATTACK FILM !" THOUGH YOU COULD'N'T BE BLAMED FOR THINKING IT. TOWARDS THE END THE TRUTH OF WHY ALIENS ARE HERE WILL MAKE YOU WONDER, WHY ? SO GRAB YOUR MUNCHIES AND DRINKS SIT COMFORTABLY & BE PATIENT YOU WILL ENJOY THIS FILM. IF YOU PUFF YOU'LL ENJOY IT MORE ! I GAVE IT 5 STARS BECAUSE IT HELD MY ATTENTION EVEN WITH FLASHBACKS. Invasion Planet Earth IS VOID OF KNOWN BIG STARS ( EXCEPT 4 TOYAH WILCOX ) BUT THEY ALL DO A GREAT JOB. THERE ARE NO AMERICANS THAT I RECALL,A BONUS I FEEL.IF YOU LOVE OR JUST LIKE SCI-FI YOU MAY OR MAY NOT LIKE ..............INVASION PLANET EARTH ...........BUT GIVE IT A GO..
